Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 3000 pokemon trainers break record in Madrid

Biggest pokemeeting till date, and that's with almost 40ºC of temperature, 3000 people catching pokemon in the Puerta del Sol of Madrid, the objective was to get the record of trainers (previously 2000 in Sidney) and call the attention of Niantic so they celebrate the first legendary pokemon event in the Spanish capital.

The fever of the game definitely does not seem to be fading right now.

Certainly making a strong case but why would Niantic choose only one place on Earth to hold a legendary event when they can choose several at the same time?

I think it all looks so childish. Adult people running the streets catching imaginary animals.

Last week at my work a girl came and told us we apparently had a Pokemon gym just outside the building. And everyone was like, what on earth are you talking about? What a nerd...

And getting out of their homes to play and making relations with other adult people, so naif. Is cute.

Must say I was annoyed yesterday, this was my view when I stepped outside of my place:

It is one of those shopping streets aimed to young adults and they use pokemon go to attract people, show owners were panicking and the police had to make a car free street for some hours.

Catching real animals is harder work and potentially dangerous.

The amount people who are sour about the game's success is astounding. So salty.

Anyway, this is insane. I mean, I think it's safe to assume that this is even somehow a BIGGER phenomenon than that of the original games. Too bad Nintendo didn't develop this themselves. They'd be on cloud 9 if they did and the servers probably wouldn't be so fried. Congrats to Niantic and Nintendo/Pokemon Company! Now get Gen 2 fired up!
