Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo NX, a better Razer Edge?

Just look at this thing, it's the NX. the NX is this. Maybe not the same form factor but yeah (also powered by Nvidia)

That would be awesome, specially if they can make it look premium. Probably the best looking potential NX I have seen so far.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

We also got this guy, but didn't come out sadly.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image. If this is what Nintendo is doing and also having it hook up to the TV I'm so freaking ready for NX.

Looks great and totally portable. People are much more likely to carry around something like this than a, say, 3DS which fits in a pocket.

You and your sarcastic comments. That doesn't even make sense. This one has only one screen while the 3DS has 2! So it will fit even better in every pocket.

Don't forget all that 3D in the 3DS that must make it take up a lot of space.

This is Nintendo we're speaking of. The new device is innovative so it will certainly use 4D. Some rumors even suggest it will be 5D. But in any way Nintendo will probably use some last gen 4D/5D to make it a lot smaller and cheaper.

no.... razers edge only has 1hour of battery life while gameing.
That would simply not be acceptable by a nintendo handheld.

A perspective projection 3D to 2D of stereographic projection 4D to 3D of Schlegel diagram 5D to 4D of the 5-cube (or penteract)

Gameing with a screen like this!... that would be intense!

*A five-dimensional space is a space with five dimensions. If interpreted physically, that is one more than the usual three spatial dimensions and the fourth dimension of time used in relativitistic physics.

*** Whether or not the actual universe in which we live is five-dimensional is a topic of debate.

Yeah, battery life is definitely a concern. Tegra X1 is a 15 watt chipset, double it's predecessor, Tegra K1. Tegra K1 powered the Shield Tablet, which had 3 hours of gaming battery life, which suggests that NX using Tegra X2 would only have 1.5 hours of gaming battery life, which is just not acceptable for a portable. That's one reason why I agree with the theory that Tegra X1 is just a placeholder in the NX dev kits until Tegra X2 is ready later this year. Tegra X2 is 16nm, so power consumption should be better than the Tegra X1, meaning longer battery life.

No its a 21-25watt chip.

To do 512 GFlops it uses more than 20watts of power.

A tegra X1 that is only allowed to use 15watts is a underclocked one, thats less powerfull than the one in the Shield tablets.

Theres been reviews of Nvidia Tegra Shields (the console), where they measured power consumption of them, they are over 20watts when you run a game on them.
