Based on Eurogamers supposed info leak, How many NXs will nintendo sell World Wide?

My guesses:

Launch year = 5 million

Lifetime(5 years) = 25 million

What do you say???

We still need games and price. Also, it seems your basing your prediction off console trends when you need to be looking at handheld. 3DS had an mediocre launch line-up and a number of droughts and the shoddy 3D did not make up for the $250 price. BotW alone already guarantees NX a better launch, unified library should prevent droughts, and if it is $250 then HD visuals on handheld and the ability to play on TV should have the value atleast meet the cost.

a Nintendo handheld with more power than a wii u, that's also a home console. Imagine Pokemon, Zelda, Mario on that thing, that's how many nx will sell.

Well first off if the Rumors are true this thing is a Handheld that can be used as a console.

So lets look at Nintendos Handheld market, has any of their handhelds sold less then 30 million units?

Even looking at the Charts now if the 3DS was classed as a console it would be the number 1 selling console in the world.

I think this alone should give a good impression of what a new nintendo handheld can do, Never mind that it could possibly be used as a Tablet too and well i think this thing is going to sell like hot cakes and thats just based on the rumors.

I was hoping to not be "theDrill" here and say that the thing would sell crazy and that we would all see soon enough.

Besides that, I think the handheld market has canged in the last few years, so most of the old sales trajectories are obsolete as a reference.  I also think if they try to market this as a hybrid, people will decide for themselves what it is one or the other and that could mean console.  Also, if it isn't cheap, it will sell slowly...  Just my thoughts

No clue. Game consoles sell based on trends. If society deems the NX 'cool" or the 'must have' thing like Wii was, then it's going to sell like gang busters. If it doesn't, you're looking at Gamecube sales.

So until it launches and we see if the public wants to anoint it or not, we really have no idea what's going to happen.

Well.. There are tons of things we don't know yet, most importantly is the price.

But with that being said... It is a handheld that can plug into the tv. If we assume that Nintendo won't make an actual console, that means that we can probably take away the usually overlap buyers. So I say around 60-70 million at $200sh pricepoint. Anything above $200-$250 will make the handheld a lot less of an impulse buy for most people so the sales will go down as the price goes up imo.

But Nintendo never said its a console or that it wont release a console later on.

All they said is it "Wont replace the Wii U or 3DS" but it could have "Many form factors" in otherwords it sounds exactly like a Handheld/Tablet Device.

Just imagine a handheld that can play games looking much better then the Vita, Can plug into your TV, Will be able to play all Nintendo's Console and Handheld games and will have a ton of Japan support and you will have an idea of how i think it will sell.

People keep trying to compare this to Console Sales and point to Nintendos console sales to do so. However they should be looking to Nintendos Handheld and Tablet sales to get an idea of how well it can do.

I guess that is the point of both the poll and the tread itself.  IF the Eurogamer article is true, what will happen saleswise?  you walked away from the article thinking handheld sales.  I walked away thinking console...

You know... You're pretty much describing the Vita, right?

"just imagine a handheld that can play games looking much better then the PSP, Can plug into your TV, Will be able to play all Sony's Console and Handheld games and will have a ton of Japan support."

That describes what Sony was pitching with the Vita when it was lauched. We all know how that fared.

Depends on the price point entirely. If they are abandoning the handheld business to merge their handheld and console lines, then I should hope that they plan to price this thing at $250 dollars at launch. If they do that, then I can easily see it selling 60 or 70 million, possibly more. However, if its priced at 400 dollars at launch, I doubt it will sell more than 30 million.

I would guess the $400 pricepoint to hit what the Eurogamer article suggets.  If so, say hello to the 30 million.
