Forums - General Discussion - Yugioh- yay or nay?

Yugioh is one of the most succesful card games and Manga of all time. While it's nothing like it was during the days of the original and GX, it still does insanely well in Japan and decent in America.

That being said, I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on the card game, manga, and anime.

Personally, I love the game. It's easy to understand and fun to play with friends.

I enjoyed yugioh up until Zexal. I don't know why, but anything from then on really turns me off.

No, thanks. Magic: The Gathering all the way for me! =D

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Yugioh one of the greatest things ever !!! I spent thousands of Euros on Yugioh, most of that money on Trading Cards (obiously) but also Games. Me and a lot of Friends were all playing Yugioh back in the Day, at home, school etc. ! But i stopped playing the Trading Card Game a few years ago, but i still have all my cards (around 4000 i think) and if Konami releases another Yugioh Game for PS4 i will for sure buy it !!! Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist was nice, but not really groundbreaking. I would love if they make a Game like back in the Day they did for Gameboy/Nintendo DS/PSP.

For the series the first One was always the best and most People i know and in General agree with that. Each Series after the Original one got worse and worse in my opinion. I would love if they go back to the Original one with Yugi/Yami, Kaiba, Marik, Joey and all that awesome characters !!! :)

I will always keep my Trading Cards, Duelist Disk as a memory and never throw them away or sell them like other people.

"Yugioh- yay or nay?"

Huge nay from me.

Eh for me. The power creep from the recent series have made my cards from the original series easy to counter. It's still a good series, but you have to be constantly updated to be good at it.

Fist 2 series were awesome. Watched the anime and played the TCG, which was eventually banned from school. Haven't cared for it since though, do still play the old video games occasionally.

I enjoyed the card game on GBA I guess. The first season was interesting. You know, when Yugi was actually killing people, then they focused mainly on people duelling with cards and I lost my interest in it.

What we need is a Yugi-Go

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I like the anime while Yugi was in it (and mostly the island), didn't read the manga and the card game is very weak compared to Magic... but I like the games with Yugi-oh, but like even more Magic games.

when I was a kid everybody had Yugioh cards but that was it. i dont think a single person knew how to play and the anime was way too bizarre for me to ever watch. not really something i remember fondly
