I want to see them make...

A new Metroid 83 41.50%

A game from another existing IP 26 13.00%

A new IP 91 45.50%

Total:200

Well guess what, I want proper Metroid... It's been awhile.

I want a new Metroid Prime game! I understand the need for people to want new IP for the sake of being trendy, but Nintendo already has a bunch of established IP's that don't get enough attention. Sony is proof enough that new IP's for the sake of new IP's don't sell great or mean good games being made. If the game idea sounds like it should belong to an established franchise, slapping a new name on it and generic story shouldn't be paraded around for the claims that it's a new IP.

I don't think it's a matter of "being trendy", nor of "new IPs for the sake of new IPs" but more that a lot of people want to see Retro bring a kind of game to Nintendo hardware that doesn't necessarily belong as part of any existing franchise. People like their consoles to offer a variety of different games, and Nintendo's existing stable of IPs can't comfortably accomodate something in the vein of, say, Uncharted. It would make more sense for such a game to be a new IP instead of awkwardly shoehorning an ill-fitting existing IP onto it.

Donkey Kong Country: The Return of King K.Rool!

Sony's games really don't fit the mold that you describe that often, as most could have been something from an existing franchise. Nintendo on the other hand has many IP's that could already suit a wide variety of game play styles and options but have been dormant. Splatoon is the perfect time for Nintendo creating a new IP that worked perfectly and Federation Force is not! Zelda BoTW could have easily been a new IP for the sake of being one, but it has that much more pull because of it being an established franchise...

I'm not talking about Sony, I'm talking about Nintendo.

There isn't a Nintendo IP that would comfortably absorb a game in the style of Uncharted or Gears of War, and it's these kind of games Nintendo is sorely lacking.

A 1st person Zelda game.

In colaboration with Playtonic!!

That would be awesome!

Diddy Kong Racing 2 would be very interesting.
There was also rumors years ago that this game would be in development for Wii U IIRC.

I kind of like the idea of Retro being just that: retro. It's the designated studio for revivifying dusty IPs. It did magical work with Metroid and Donkey Kong Country. Maybe it could bring back Wave Race or Diddy Kong Racing.

Metroid, but not Prime 4. I want something as fresh and new for the franchise as Prime 1. Then after that Retro should focus on properly reviving the Star Fox franchise since Zero turned out to be a mini disaster.
