The last two $50 discounts were limited for all of - I think two weeks before they become official? They discount them, claim they are limited. Raise the price back to "normal" for a very short amount of time - then re-discount them and leave it permanent.

Imagine if they were willing to do this when it was first released. Remove the kinect, immediately discount it to less than the ps4 - and we would be in a whole different ball part 3 years later.

Pretty sure the Xbox has been on limited time sales for the past two years. I was contemplating doing some research on all the times MS has officially endorsed these discounts and then writing my findings in a thread, but alas, it'd probably just aggravate individuals which isn't my particular intention.

Wow. They must really be having problems getting rid of their original stock, though it isn't all that surprising. They should've released the slim on the same day as E3, and not wait till later.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

But then you'd still have the problem of OG Xbone hardware sitting there not selling because the Slim would be out, so you'd still have to end up discounting old hardware. Outside of great bundle deals there's not much reason for anyone to buy one right now. There aren't any big mainstream games out soon, and the S is right around the corner. So they're giving out great bundle deals.
