The Electronic Frontier Foundation released a press statement announcing and detaling a lawsuit against the US goverment for violating the First Amendment with "onerous provisions of copyright law". According to them, Section 1201 of the DMCA “has long served to restrict people’s ability to access, use, and even speak out about copyrighted materials,”.
So, yeah. This is finally happening. I can't see corporations just crossing their arms and not getting involved, since these are the laws that give them one of the biggest advantages over the smaller guys. They also seem to believe these laws protect them from pirates. So I'm expecting a lot of lobbying to come from these big corpoorations and not nesesarily in favor of this lawsuit.
