Reminder that Other M exists.

For me:

Soulsborne (Demon's, Dark, Bloodborne)

Dragon Quest, probably the most solid RPG franchise ever made, it doesn't innovate tho.

Final Fantasy mainline games are all great up until 13, which is just good so it kinda drops a little.

I would love to put Smash but Brawl was really bad.

Halo, CoD, Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, GTA, Gears, Forza, Mario, Zelda, Rainbow Six, maybe Ghost Recon - but it's lost it's way recently.

I don't buy Sony consoles so I have no idea what their big quality games are. Uncharted, I guess?

Metal Gear is officially dead - obviously. Assuming this thread means future titles.

Oblivion is amazing. I give the slightest edge to Morrowind. That was a really transcendent moment for me, playing that game. It really opened my eyes to what the genre offered. But there's just nothing like wandering around an Elder Scrolls world. It's just...magical.

I especially agree so much with the word transcendent, that's what I have been looking for!

OP is absolutely right about Mario & Luigi RPG tho, even Paper Jam which was kind of filler was still really great.

While it is 'filler', it made the RPG series Nintendo missed out on(surprisingly). It made an RPG with the vast amount of characters they rarely use.

I'm 5 hours in, and I'm really enjoying it. Dream Team was kind of a let down, as they didn't truly bring the capabilities to full use. So far, Paper jam is using Paper Mario well, and mixes both worlds quite well.

Biggest pro is the ability to skip the hold-my-hand tutorials.
