But the games I mentioned show that Nintendo doesn't consistently release good games which he said. Star Fox Zero is another one.

There is no company that does, so no need to say that Nintendo does when they don't do so.

No, the games you mention shows that there are exceptions, specially in one of their lowest years ever because of wiiu failure and NX transition, and still they have release way more good games than bad ones even on such a low moment, now you want to take the exceptions and turn them into the rule because reasons, but no, that doesn't change reality, Nintendo games are consistently good and everybody that knows about videogames knows that.

Typical response of people that always put the company in a bad light.

Don't believe it.

If this thing is not as powerful as PS4 Neo, then they should pack their bags and leave.

I think they need to focus aggressively on casuals, so I hope he's right about bringing casuals back, but I have my doubts.

Uh oh. Casual gaming machines hardly work now. The casuals want to use their phones and play those kinds games on their phones. Hell the XBO has casual games that use your phone to play lmao! They should use their mobile stuff like Pokémon Go to aggressively grab the casuals. Nintendo needs to take a step back and focus more on the core gamers in the console space. Otherwise it might even do worse than the Wii U (no not really).

If anything Nintendo probably has a very appealing feature that can be enjoyed by the casual market, but if that is the main selling point of the console and the core gamers don't like it. Good luck. A lot of die hard Nintendo fans are going to be angry. I don't think this will be the case after seeing Breath of the Wild. It seems like they are pushing for a very hardcore experience with this game. Dare I say more so than other Zelda titles.

Hell, even if it's a form of VR or AR that is optional. If it's accessible, that would be a feature that could get some casuals interested in the system. It doesn't need to be much, but it needs to be flexible and not forced down the core gamers throats like many people felt the Wii and Wii U was. Which is a matter of opinion and debatable.

And aren't all your responses typical of someone who always put the company in a good light?

Casuals... it's fine to court them Nintendo but why not court casuals and hardcore? I'm scared because Ubisoft keeps saying casual, but I'm somewhat at ease because Zelda BotW is a launch title. However, I assume that Nintendo is no longer trying to appeal to 3rd parties who are pushing for power. They're hoping that their console's "idea" is enough to make 3rd parties want to develop on their console. But I just don't see that happening anymore.

The casual market has moved, Pokemon Go cements that even further. They've got a phone that does everything they want without buying a $400 dollar console. Those Wii players are going to be harder to win back because during the Wii's generation, there was no "smartphone" like we know it. Things have changed Nintendo, and I hope NX will at least acknowledge that.

They tried attracting both audiences with the Wii U and 3DS. The hardcore didn't bite. And FWIW the Wii had ample hardcore games early on. The entire industry bet against Nintendo so after 2007 there wasn't much even though there was an audience.

I don't really remember it that way. If anything there was more third party support for the Wii after 2007 ... Red Steel 2, Wii Motion + launching with that EA Tennis game and Tiger Woods golf, No More Heroes 1/2, House of the Dead Overkill, Ghostbusters, Murumasa, Monster Hunter Tri, GoldenEye 007, and third party pubs picking up things like The Last Story along with yearly Call of Duty installments.

To be honest third parties get too much flak there, the Wii was clearly marketed and aimed at casual players so they made casual games which would make sense. If tomorrow Sony sold 20 million copies of a yoga game on the PS4 and shipped the PS4 with a controller heavily aimed towards the yoga crowd, you can bet other developers would start to look into making a yoga game for PS4 too.

It really was Nintendo's fault that the third party situation shook out the way it did on Wii ... if the Wii had a reasonable powerful chip closer to the PS3/360, it would have gotten every single 3rd party game the PS3/360 got and more.

Eh, Wii U and 3DS are more core consoles than the Wii and DS were. The difference now is, casuals that bought the Wii and DS didn't bite on Wii U and 3DS because they have smartphones. So it's gonng go down 1 of 4 ways:

1.) NX is going to be a console just for Nintendo fans and experience Wii U levels of success.

2.) NX is going to be a console for core gamers and experience moderate success.

3.) NX will attempt to recapture the casual audience, which no longer has their eyes on dedicated gaming hardware and fall flat on its face.

4.) NX will be a innovation that casuals, hard core, and Nintendo's fans can't miss out on.

As big as a Nintendo fan as I am, I think option 3 is most likely... if NX is a casual machine.

Dont they always say this?
Its kinda meaningless comeing from them.

It just needs to be atleast as fast as the normal PS4.

And be cheaper..... and have a strong software lineup at launch.
