Forums - Gaming Discussion - What difficulty should I play The Witcher 3 at?

certainly hardest. thats what i beat it at.

I played the game on Death March during my first playthrough (I always start games with the hardest diffculty).
At the beginning I hated it and it almost made me to sell the game. But later on I loved the game!

If you play on Death March you should know that the beginning is really hard. But the rest of the game is very feasible imo.

You should play on highest difficulty if you want a platinum trophy or 100%. But if not, then I recommend to start on normal difficulty and get used to the game mechanics at first. Then you can switch the difficulty at any time. The game itself isn't hard, but the beginning can seem a bit difficult.

How annoying is the plat to get?

I decided to just go with Death March. Its a little annoying right now. This is my first Witcher game so i'm still getting use to the combat.

In two words: you need to complete almost whole game. You need to collect all gwent cards, to finish a lot of side quests (mostly all contract missions). There are some missable trophies (better to check them before the journey), but the majority of them are pretty straight-forward as I remember. The plat overall is pretty easy Id say. Beating the game on hardest difficulty is toughest part, but that isnt so hard itself.

There are some annoying killing trophies u must grind a bit.

I played on Normal and thought it was comfortable; not too frustrating but enough to keep it interesting. As a Bloodborne player I suggest you go straight to Death March

Make sure you go into gameplay options and toggle to the alternate movement. It doesn't change controls or anything, it just makes the reactiveness much smoother and thus for a better playing experience.

Death March, it actually isn't that much harder imo.

Dragon Buster? Perhaps Dragon Bone Smasher on Demon's Souls? XP

Anyway, I usually use light one handed weapons. Platined DS2 with a Bandit Handaxe killing most of the bosses in my first go XP

My god did a LoD reference actually just go over your head?

Good thing I didn't go with the bid about Demon's Gate not working on bosses. Dragon Buster was way less obscure

It actually did, lol, I feel really ashamed, I mean, it's on my damn avatar!
I- I was just too focused on the Souls talk, I was really trying to track down a weapon called Dragon Buster on a Souls game... XP

Dragon Buster is really OP on LoD, it can even 1 hit kill your best friend D:

Shameful.....

I will never let you live this down lol
