This is just the beginning IMO. Nintendo could dominate the mobile market, it's possible no one can stop them.

Well the issue is right now this spike is based on the future, not the present. The future is looking like it could be bright. Pokemon GO is doing exceptionally well and is also apparently causing a pretty impressive rise in N3DS sales and Pokemon sales (Sun and Moon Preorders, OR/AS, X/Y, and even digital codes and cartridges for R/B/Y). If they can replicate this to drive sales of consoles and other franchises, their business truly could soar to a Wii/DS level. But that future isn't here yet, and once that sinks in the price will fall. Not back to where it was, but it won't just keep rising at this rate. I mean, look at that bleeding chart!?!
Also, I have to say I wonder if Pokemon GO might be having a more subtle, psychological impact that could help gaming long term in general: de-stigmatizing "serious" gaming. Now Pokemon GO isn't "serious" gaming, but let's face it, most mobile games prefer to be the digital equivalent of a board game in that they are distinctly...well lacking in personality. They can be and often are played in isolation and are discreet. Pokemon Go, on the other hand, has a distinct brand, mascots, it's a very much recognized as a "gaming" IP, something a lot of people still - STILL - feel a bit awkward about openly admitting to being into (for some reason). So I wonder if part of the 3DS surge and such is because this isn't just a sensation, it's out in the open. People can see other people really getting into this game and talking about it and being very cordial about it. And people are realizing, "hey, being into and admitting being into a game with more identity than a plank of wood doesn't make you a socially isolated basement dweller!" :P
Not saying this will make all gaming suddenly spike in sales, but it is a thought.
