According to Vgchartz, Okami has sold 150k in Japan. So let's add that:

Japan: 150k

And according to this source, Okami sold 270k by March 07, so with legs it might have sold 300k in America

America: 300k

And while the game was completely ignored in Europe, a large userbase must have gave it some sales. Let's go low and say 50k.

So, what we end up with is...

Japan: 150k

America: 300k

Europe: 50k

Total: 500k

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, or interpreting it incorrectly but your source states this:

"In fact, since its release in September of 2006, the game has amassed about 270,000 in sales..."

To me that means in total sales, till March 20th, 2008 it has sold in total, 270k. Did I miss where it stated that this number was only for the US?

 This.

So, as I am to understand it, you are now renouncing the ign article (which after further investigation, Capcom must agree with, as they link to it from the official capcom website) and instead using this nex-gen website as your source?

This is pretty crazy.  How long can this go on?  Montana, you do realize that your new source contradicts your 270k number, right?

And thanks to Kasz216, we know that "1. The stats were compiled using NPD stats as well as various public, analyst and publisher figures and dead reckoning."  Dead reckoning being, to my understanding, complete guesswork based on experience and intuition.  I would have intuited that one of the most acclaimed games of the generation would have sold well.  And we all know how accurate analysts are.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Anyway, I don't expect this to outdo 500k.

As for a sequel, Clover no longer exists, I'd rather not see the series go the way of Max Payne.

Wait...

So what you're saying is they'll remake it on the PS3, the successor to the PS2, which is selling a lot less than the PS2 instead of porting it to a console that is familiar with Zelda and a Zelda-esque game will probably sell well on it? You want them to just port it to the PS3 where it'll do A LOT less than on the Wii? Plus then why didn't the just buy it on the PS2?

Dude, that has got to be the most retarded idea I've ever heard. I didn't know how to respond when I read it. Your post didn't make any sense...AT ALL. And I'm not counting this as console bias. This was just a....retarded idea.

So, it doesn't any sense to you that I want to play this game on the PS3 the most? When you finally get a PS3 and understand how much potential the console has for great games, you're going to want to see some support for it as well. This game would have potential to set a new standard for cell-shaded games on the PS3.

I think this will be very interesting. Im buying the game for sure - it might surprise everyone and actually get to a million.

I'm quite sure you got it all wrong on "RE5 people". It's not that they have a second, HD console and refuse to buy the game on that one and wish it to come to the Wii, it's just they cannot afford ( or don't want to splash more money ) on a second console.

Don't get me wrong, I'll ( hopefully ) love RE5 on my PS3 although I hope the Wii could handle it so that I could play with awesome controls too. That's what I got my PS3 for ( that and FFXIII / Soul Calibur 4 )

Meh, to be honest, I just want this game on the PS3 so I can see what the PS3 can do graficly for such a unique art direction. Other than that, it's AAA and I'm buying for any console it comes out on.

Why would they change anything graphically for a PS3 port? They didn't change any of the graphics for the Wii port. The only way you would get that would be for Capcom to build it from the ground up for the PS3, and that just isn't going to happen. We would be lucky to just get Okami 2.
