Last week, a store of the popular Japanese retail chain Yodobashi Camera put up a sign warning customers of apotential shortage of PS4 in August and September.
Now it isn’t an isolated signal anymore. The Arakawa store of the popular Niigata Prefecture retailer COMG! Announced via Twitter that a summer shortage for PS4 is incoming, advising customers to purchase the console before it happens. The message was then retweeted by the retailer’s main Twitter account.
Considering the launch of popular JRPGs like Tales of Berseria, Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV, on top of the new chapters of beloved rhythm franchises like The Idolmaster and Hatsune Miku Project Diva and more, the PS4 seems to be definitely in the position of having a very hot summer in Japan, possibly enhancing the momentumreported yesterday by Media Create.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see if the wave of strong titles will be enough to severely impact availability on the store shelves.
