Wow. People who haven't seen the movie and continue to insist the movie is bad couldn't get any more pathetic at this point. Stop trolling.

Selectively choosing reviewers to prove your point wouldn't fly with the mods here if we were talking about Uncharted or any other video game that was positively received, in fact, you would be banned for trolling and constant downplaying, and I freaking HATE uncharted. Go ahead and do the same in one of the many metacrtic threads we have here, and tell us how, a game you never played and that got reviewed positively on metacritic, actually sucked, and I promise you will get banned for trolling.

I watched the original ghostbusters movie once and I could easily tell it's one of the most ever rated average movies I've ever seen. If I watch it 5 times I'd throw up. The fact that the reboot is being positively reviewed despite the templates it's supposed to mimic tells you just as much, you should know by now that the movie just hasn't aged well. So I have to ask for the 10th time, why are you so pathetically butthurt?

Not to mention, the Ghostbusters' alleged untouchable legacy was already cheapened with the 1989 sequel. Get.Over.It.

If you think the original Ghostbusters is bad, and even the supporters of this remake says it's a lot worse (like 9.5 versus 6.0) then you that didn't watch the movie should accept it's junk.

If I watch the movie and dont like it, do I get My money back? And make sure it dosent count towards their box office count. Cuz that is the thinng about voting with your wallet. Theres no way Im going to support something that looks awfull. I watch this for free when its out and if I end up liking it, Ill watch the sequel when its out. The same we do with video games.

And its not randomly selectively choosing reviews. there are some outlets that just click with you, they tend to like the same games or movies and you know you can trust them. For me it was gametrailers, angry joe also resonates with me, so I tend to trust them. Its not always 100%, but most of the time we sahre the same opinion.

Another thing is that its not just a couple of reviews its all eviews that are split in 2, the ones who think is average and the ones that hated it. and I tend to agre that the ones that think is average just say that because they want to promote female leads or just dont want the backlash of being called sexist.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

It didn't even get a decent discount Tuesday boost its going to have a hard time making a lot more then $200 million dollars world wide.

Just thouught this was funny

Or could it be the movie is just ... average? Which by the way is the same thing Ghostbusters II was.

It's like the brain can't comprehend that reality for some people.

For 80s toy properties (and yes, that's basically what Ghostbusters became, a toy brand), I'd rank the new Ghostbusters above Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Ninja Turtles, also better than other 80s reboots like Robocop (bleh) and Total Recall (meh).

Honestly I liked the new ghostbusters but they brought all of this hate on themselves. The reason i liked it has nothing to do with it being ghostbusters, it shouldn't even have been a ghostbusters movie. They just needed to make a comedy with those 4 women and not involve a franchise that fans have been waiting decades for. On top of that the two fanbases for these type of comedies and fans of the original ghostbusters have almost no overlap at all, the demographics do not match up.
The person that thought this was a good idea was not right in the head.

The cast was pretty good, talented enough anyway.

This script was just not good enough. Some decent stuff in there, but it needed another rewrite with a reworked third act and a more fleshed out villian (the idea of him isn't even that bad). There are some good ideas in the script they're just not fleshed out enough.

It's not like this would suddenly be a great movie if it was Channing Tatum, Seth Rogan, Kevin Hart, and whoever with the same script. It would be the same, maybe worse.

Other problem is with modern audiences, more raunchy humor is what works these days, I guess they could have tried to go more Bridesmaids with this and made it R-rated, but I don't think Sony would allow that, they wanted it to work for kids.

of course they should have made it like bridesmaids, that is who the movie should be marketed to.  That's why it shouldn't even have been ghostbusters, it would have been a better movie and it wouldn't get so much hate.  This is by the guy who made bridesmaids, spy, and the heat which were all rated R.  This movie is the worst of all of those.

I could  have said the bolded to you, the way you are defending it but still call the script bad an how you wish the movie was something else, but I now you just refuse to accept that most poeple just dont like this. I mean you give reasons why this movie is no good and still cant accept most people dnt like it for thouse reasons and they others they notice as well.

P.S.  watch G.I. Joe, the first one was pretty good, the second was total trash.
