Forums - Gaming Discussion - What was the game that got you into gaming?

Zelda: Link's Awakening. My family didn't always get the newest game consoles at the time but my cousins did. So when I was around 7 years old I got a hand me down Gameboy Pocket and like 3 copies of Link's Awakening. It was the first game I played and beat with my brother, even on the small screen. Such good times.

I have no idea, been gaming longer than I can even remember. I know we owned a PS1 but I was really young and don't remember much from back then. Then we got an N64 which is what I grew up on along with the first 2 gens of Pokemon.

I don't remember. My dad gave me his Genesis and his game collection when I was a wee little lad. The games I remember playing most were Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Aladdin. My gut says Street Fighter, though.

It just kinda happened. I don't even have a clear memory of it. The 1st one I played was Mario Bros 3, but the ones that really awed me in the beginning were Sonic 1 and Super Mario World, and the rest is history.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the game that got me serious about gaming. I was 7 or so. Probably the first game that actually substantially meant something to me, too.

Kirby's Dream Land. It was nice to have a well crafted game I could beat on my own. Especially since a lot of the other games I owned were things like Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden.

Mario 64 and/or Ocarina of Time

Duck hunt. On the other side, game that scares me away was super mario world. Nothing's more heartbreaking when you couldnt even past the third level

It had to be Super Mario Bros on the NES. Thing is, I don't remember playing it that much.
