Forums - Gaming Discussion - What was the game that got you into gaming?

Perhaps you may have played other games before, but I am talking about that one game you saw or played that made you decide to nose-dive into the thing and swim deeper.

Donkey kong country.

I was going to buy a Nintendo64 when I was a kid but they were demoing Tekken 3 for PlayStation and I went for Sony.

Pokemon

This and Crash for me.

Edit: Well, those were my introduction to gaming, but Pokemon overall made me stay and get hardcore into it.

Metroid Prime. When I first played it on my cousin's gamecube I was a kid and I had no idea what it was, years later when I got a gamecube of my own I told myself "I should buy that game I played when I was a kid" and I bought it and I fell in love and that's when I got into gaming.

The answer is Super Mario Bros (NES) for those who have good taste and a well formed adult brain.

I was a NES gamer and then a PC gamer but the game that truly made me love gaming was FF7. It's actually the whole PlayStation era - it was something else when it was released. I still recall those days where you'd pass a shop that was playing the PS games' CGI trailers on loop.
