Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Recommend a Pokemon game for a noob like me.

If you 'hack' your WiiU you can play heartgold, pearl, diamond, soulsilver and platinum on it. You only need an SD card :P

But as you apparently have a 3ds there's no need. I still recommend gen 1, so red or yellow.

Thanks pal, I obviously didn't think this thread through properly. It's been a long day at work ;)

Pokemon Ash Gray.

If you enjoy the old anime. This is the best choice to make.

The Custom Room follows the story of Ash Ketchum and his friends.

You can play this on your Phone, PC or a modified PSP. You can even cross play if you copy and paste the save file into any other device. Don't forget to do this, my Phone broke and I lost all my Pokemon :(

I suggest you to play the Pokémon games in the order they came out, you can find Red, Blue and Yellow, the first +titles in the series on 3DS (note they are pretty much the same, Yellow is slightly better because it has colour and a few extra things), then you'd need a GBA to play gold/silver/crystal and then ruby/saphire/emerald , once you've done that you can play all of the other games on the 3DS them beeing Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Black/White, Black 2/ White 2 (seequels, not to skip), X/Y and Sun/Moon

Just get a 3DS and play any of the ones there. They are worth it. It's a consistently good sereis. Black/white have the best storyline but they are all always great journeys.

Tagging, I'm also a noob when it comes to Pokemon so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for future reference.

Start with the first gen or if you think that it's too dated then play its amazing remake (FireRed/LeafGreen)

Just jump right into ORAS or wait for Sun/Moon. If you start playing Red/Blue/Yellow and then jump 5 gens you'll be annoyed.

Aren't they all noob friendly?

FireRed/LeafGreen I'd say is a very good start.
