Eh. The overwhelming majority of Pokemon GO players don't care about dedicated gaming consoles. They aren't going to look twice at anything that isn't on their phone.

Wouldn't hurt, though, to throw some advertising in unconventional places.

You think the people downloading PG are interested in spending $200+ for a console?

Are you forgetting the game is FREE?

The app itself is probably already doing that. We already had a thread pop up having the pokemon urge again. Perhaps it is doing the same for others playing Pokemon Go.

Forget about marketing. Just keep making interesting products. Zelda Breath and Pokemon Go are the two most interesting games Nintendo has had in years. If NX can keep up the pace upon reveal, they'll be laughing.

the wii u had dozens of interesting games. problem is most people dont even know them.

people are spending tons of money and free time on this app so i think yes, that is very likely.

That's not how Nintendo works. Nintendo does one hit wonders and then just rides out the hype.

smh..... then you have no idea how microtransactions work.

Don't get it twisted. My gf just downloaded this game a few days ago on her phone. She doesnt even have a TV in her house much less a console. Those are the kinda people we are talking about here.

Do they even have to? They're getting so much free press as is, lol.

Case in point, just two weeks ago my local EB store hit rock bottom with Nintendo's shelf space basically reduced to one corner with all Amiibos, Wii U, and 3DS software shoved into there sadly and even having to share space with clearance Disney Infinity figures.

Never has Nintendo had such limited store presence here in like the 15+ years I've gone to this store. It was a little depressing, lol.

I walked past the store this weekend and they had a new Pokmeon section right in the middle of the store with Pokemon merchandise .... guess they've caught on that Pokemon Go is a big deal.

No, it had good games.  If it had interesting games, everyone WOULD know about them.  The games Wii U have, most people just don't care about.  They've seen them.  But those same people saw Zelda Breath and drooled.

Breath of the Wild looks fantastic, but realistically I don't think the Wii U would've matched even GameCube's sales even if it had BotW exclusive.

Pokemon Go is a completely different beast, that is a legit social phenonmenon, the type of thing that happens once a decade maybe.
