Depressing that it's the fast selling console in Japan

Lol the it's behind the Wii U argument. The Wii U released waaaaaaaay before it. Ps4 ain't passing it any sooner than it has. Fact is it's ahead of the ps3 and it will sell 8m absolute minimum this gen.

The Wii crowd was very casual and not representative of the hardcore market. Last gen a lot of gamers who bought the 360 would of also had a ps3. It's just this gen they are ps4 only.

Shouldn't it be waaaay ahead because "this gen they are PS4 only". Like no competition in the console market?

Lols.

Right now it is practiically PS4 only.  Look at the 2016 sales for PS4 vs Wii U + X1.

Launches aligned the ps4 is waaaaaaaay ahead of the Wii U and even without aligning them it's going to pass the Wii U soon and power off into the horizon.

And that's some change over last gen where the Wii and ps3 launched at the same time.  Sony have taken over the market again.

And with games like FF7, FF15, DQ11, GTA 6 and many more Japan focused titles coming it's got a bright future.  Good scope for future price cuts,  PSVR,  slim, neo.

When all is said and done the ps4 will have sold more than double the Wii U and similar numbers to the ps3.

In a market where all else are failing and Sony finished second last gen,  big kudos to Sony!

So its still like 190k behinde the Wii U? meh.
Its taken the PS4 some time to catch up to it.

Wonder what Japan PS4 sales will look like another 2.5 years from now?
Will they only be around 6m by then?

My guess is the NX will launch and PS4 numbers will tank dramatically...

Ok sales I guess, though still not as good as last gen or 6th gen. Its good, but not great.

Ok? It's selling better than PS3 was at this point, which is an improvement for a territory deemed to be mobile centric for nearly the last decade

What was your need in posting this again?

Because that proves my point and he kept arguing while ignoring that fact.

It's not depressing at all: smart phones are powerful machines nowadays.

They are indeed, but where are the games with any significant depth and production values?

Show me anything on cell phones like :

GTAV

UC4

Halo (any)

Forza

Skyrim

Fallout 4

???

Pokemon Go hopefully can light a fire with publishers to give greater respect to the cell platform beyond 'bite-sized' fluff games. Not saying that PMG is anywhere near as deep or polished as any of the above console games, but it shows that a quality IP can pull vast numbers.

Pokemon Go isn't even close to being the most polished/deepest/best mobile game. Very odd example to choose if you were going for something that shows that mobile can indeed have quality experiences.

3 millions in a country with 127 million people known for their devotion to gaming doesn't seem too much to me...I guess I'm wrong.
