Did you survive YLOD/RROD?

My PS3 died 55 17.35%

My PS3 is still ok 107 33.75%

My Xbox360 died 74 23.34%

My Xbox360 is still ok 28 8.83%

My Wii will outlive every... 53 16.72%

Total:317

And if you didn't survive:

1) How many years did your PS3/Xbox360 last before they failed on you?

2) What did you do when it/they failed?

a) Did you buy another or went to another console from another company?

b) Did you fix it?

If you survived:

1) How many years has your console stayed alive?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

My fat Xbox 360 died on me half a dozen times. Microsoft fixed/replaced them all, the last couple of machine replacements they tried to wave the warranty length flag, so I took them to the consumer affairs and got Microsoft to pull their finger out.

Ended up selling my fat 360 for $20 and got a Halo 4 Slim machine (Which is 4~ years old now) which has been rock solid. Been thinking of grabbing an E console "just in case" as a backup.

My PS3 died, then i got so mad and decide to jump on the master race herp duh! Then my parent gave me a PS3 (i bought my died PS3 with my own money that was why it make me so mad) so i jump back to my beloved PlayStation.
But still remain on the PC mastar race herp duh!

my PC based on x86 is still running

I got three RRoDs. Didn't even bother to get it fixed the third time. One of the primary reasons I never had interest in the One.

My Snes, ps1 & Ps2 & Ps3 etc still alive, my only console who died is one of my psp but because my cats have put down soda on this :p

I got rid of my launch 360 within a year so escaped the rrod. The second 360 I got a couple years later, no idea if they were still susceptible but if they were I've not used the thing enough to get it.

My fat 60gb ps3 got the ylod after a solid 5 years. It's still around somewhere, didn't try and fix it or repair it, just bought a slim.

Xbox 360 died 9 times on me. It was an absolute mess. Bought the first one in 2006. That one didn't really die itself, but it scratched all my discs, even when I wasn't moving the damn thing! 60 € games went right into the trash because of that shit. Microsoft at first didn't want to repair the console, they said I would be moving the console. It took me nearly 2 months to convince them that that wasn't the case. Then I finally got a new one. Well, that new console only lasted three weeks, then the disc drive died. It didn't read any discs anymore. So I sent it back to Microsoft, got another one. That one died from RROD after a few months.

At that point, I was so angry at the 360 that I said "screw dat" and just threw the console out of the window. Got a PS3 after that. The big old fat lady, works until today, it just gets loud as fuck! But technically, it's working fine. However, after some time, I decided it's time to give the 360 another go, mainly because I wanted to play online with some friends who also were on 360. So I bought a new 360, some arcade bundle I think, and it worked for about 2 months, then I got another RROD. I couldn't believe that that shit was happening again. But well, Microsoft sent me a new console without problems. Which also died shortly after, again because of problems with the disc drive. Another new one from Microsoft, died again and so on.

I really have bad memories with the 360 in that regard, it's absolutely insane they releases such a faulty product! It blows my mind. But well, sometime I got one of those new consoles which look like a Xbox One, that one works until now. I rarely use it anymore though.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

no option for me. 2 YLOD, 1 RROD

PS: interestingly I still have my original 360 picked up launch day (was a slim that RROD for me) and it has never missed a beat and was still in use until early last year.

I went through four 360's. The last of the four has worked for the last 5 years. My Wii just recently stopped reading discs which is odd because it's the first Nintendo console of any kind outside of the NES that I've owned (and I've owned them all) that stopped working.

But the king of failure rates for me was the PS2 and it's DRE. That son of a bitch was as close to a disposable console as I've ever seen.
