Forums - General Discussion - Least favorite social media platform

Personally, I hate social media. Ever since I stopped using it one year ago, my life has improved considerably. The only 'social media' I still use is reddit, since it's basically the most useful place ever.

Otherwise, in all seriousness(the rest won't be serious after this 😂), I seriously dislike how social media has made people become addicted to their phone. It's irritating how I always try to hang out with people, but they always end up glued to their phone and forget that they are with others. May be just me, but social media may let us see more people around the world, but it hasn't connected at all. It's simply made us further apart and lose the ability to make connections with others in the real world.

Moving on-

Facebook, Tumblr, vine, snapchat(ew), Google plus(lol), instagram, twitter, and so forth are all examples of social media. I hate them all, but here's the biggest issue with each.

Facebook- god, why? Just why? This is basically the place from cringe worthy materials. 99% of it is minions...and minions...and goddamn minions! I feel like most people don't even use Facebook anymore. It's like the popular version of MySpace, but it's now meant to be the online way to see your family. For real though, does anyone use Facebook for other reasons?

Tumblr- the place that's 10% actual blogs, 30% washed up "jokes"/memes, 30% rants on straight white CIS male conservatives, and and 30% trigger warnings. Don't go here if you appreciate your brain and don't want to facepalm yourself to death.

Google plus- does anyone even use Google plus? Last time I saw, it's basically just a place for rule 34 and role playing. I mean, I guess it's good if you're into that, but it's a pretty big failure for google

Myspace- lol

Twitter: the 140 word cap is irritating. I mean, what's the point? Is there anything you can even say with such little words? Maybe a one liner, but that's it. The worst is when what you want to say gets cut off, and you can't finish your statement.

Reddit- the holy grail of the internet. The place where people can be civilized, use original jokes, and offer video guides for everything.

Snapchat- Snapchat has inspired people to be on their phones to record everything, and it's irritating. No one cares if you woke up. No one cares what you're eating as well. You can choke on your food for all I care.

Instagram- take everything I said about Snapchat and apply it here. Only difference is that instagram is also for horny people to check out playboy accounts(and get your second hand going up and down as well ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )

Vine: take a joke that's not funny at all or slightly funny. Ok, now make 182727291918 more people repeat the same exact joke(or mouth) it to ruin the point of the original joke and cause you to Heil hitler everytime someone mentions the joke. Want an example? 21. Deez nuts. Dance challenges. Is that enough?

Musical.ly- jesus christ this is the literal form of cancer. It's as if the creators of this just wanted a place for cringy children to group up and show off their horrible talent. I'm telling you people, the world leaders need to shut down this app. It's where the creator of Sweatshirt( Jacob sartorius) came from.

There's the biggest flaws for all of them. Without a do, here's the list for the worst social media platforms(from worst to bad):

1) musical.ly

2) vine

3) Tumblr

4) Facebook

5) snapchat

6) instagram

7) twitter

8) Google plus

I'd love to see the social media platforms you hold the biggest grudge for. For me, it's most of them, but I'm sure not everyone has such a biased negativity for it.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Around the Network

1) Facebook

2)Pinterest

3)Twitter

4)Yahoo

That's about all I can think of. I largely prefer G+ over Facebook any time of day fight me.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Facebook, mostly because you are pretty much forced to have one. The interface is a mess, people who you barely know send you random friend requests and spam your wall with weird stuff. Sometimes its nice for groups because you get notifications but overall it's a pain.

I don't mind tumblr because at least you can filter out the bad stuff and reddit is hit or miss. There's some bad subreddits which I dread but some subreddits are decent enough to frequent.

Facebook

I legitimately like Facebook because I can track people I'd like to be acquainted with, my friends group has come to a point where they don't post annoying stuff anymore, I can quickly chat and maintain contact with people from far away and I also use Facebook to read news from dozens of important news sites.

I hate Instagram and Snapchat because they are useless and so impractical. Maybe I'm too old and those apps are too casual for me.

Around the Network

I don't have a smart phone so most of those social platforms don't mean anything to me. I haven't updated my Facebook page in years, hardly ever log on. VGChartz is easy to keep up with, that's about it for me.

One thing I do hate is freaking video guides for everything! I don't have time to watch a video. A written guide with pictures is much easier to skim through. Guess my most hated is you tube.

Facebook and Twitter. For god sake, you don't have to put the trending on everything! Especially about the economy! AGHH!

I refused to ever get facebook, so I guess that's my least favourite one.

I use most of my social media to follow other artists and illustrators, so both my tumblr and instagram are rather nice to look at. Pinterest is a very good source for visual research as long as you manage to ignore the copious amounts of creepy pasta, urban legends, and plain falsehoods on there.

I have a twitter to follow a few people, but rarely if ever post.

Don't know if you want to count skype and what's app as social networks, but they are by far the most useful to me.

Snapchat by far....

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I technically only use one: Facebook, so I guess that's my least favorite (and I genuinely dislike it sometimes).

However, I think I hate anything related to Snapchat just by hearing it.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
