What games are you guys playing on it right now?  What do you recommend?

Currently I'm looking to pick up a PS4 around Christmas time, though I'd like to have somewhat of a backlog to choose from when I fork over 400$ for a thing.  Right now I have a few games safely placed so I don't forget they exist("Save for Later" at Amazon cause lazy). Having not played a single game on the console, I'd enjoy hearing what everyone here plays and likes.

Edit: Remasters and multiplats are A-OK.

Can you give us an example of what kind of games you like in particular? And which ones you've played on PS4. That would be a great help and I would be able to recommend some games for you. Rather than just spam a bunch of good ones :P

I haven't yet played Bloodborne, but based on From's track record, I'm sure it's great.

Shadow of Mordor is a really fun open-world action game with a revolutionary "nemesis" system that alters the game based on how you play.

Rocket League is an insanely fun soccer/car game that's great for couch multiplayer.

SOMA is a scary and intelligent horror game from the makers of Amnesia and Penumbra.

Retro City Rampage and Guacamelee! are two extraordinary "indie" games.

Uncharted 4 is a little uneven but it hits its stride in the final third.

Mortal Kombat X is probably the best of the series.

There are still a ton of games I need to play, so that's just scratching the surface.

There are a few games I'd warn you away from. Killzone Shadow Fall is gorgeous but boring and narratively incoherent. Infamous Second Son is gorgeous but lifeless and monotonous. Transistor is gorgeous but focused on style over substance.

Well actually, I have a few in mind that I know I'd like already.  So it's not as much about recommending based on what I'd like as it's based on what you all like.  Besides I could say I loved Dishonored and all you'd guys have to recommend to me is Thief 2(I think).

Only exclusive? Bloodborne
Overall? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Uncharted 4 easily.

The remastered versions of Last of Us, God of War III and Valkyria Chronicles.

I guess Fallout 4. I don't particularly think its great. But a lot of people loved it.

I hear so much about Rocket League.  I thought it was PC exclusive! Now I'm really interested in it.

I have both of those indies from the Nintendo Humble Bundles.  Only played the latter and it's great for sure.

U2 is one of my favorite PS3 games.  U3 burned me real bad with the series.  Uneven... does U4 at least fix the pacing and storytelling?  Does it have the slow and unattractive start that U3's first few missions had?

Not a FPS guy anyway but thanks for the warning; I tried the original Infamous and I have to say I've never felt weirder controls for a game in my life.

So do I have to have played the first two Wicher games to be able to keep up?(It's probably silly to even as that these days, with devs prioritizing clawing for new audience over continuity.)

MGSV. It's the best game of the generation and one of my favorite games of all time. Even with the cut content it feels like a perfect 10/10 to me.

Ground Zeroes was my first Metal Gear game fyi.

Bloodborne, and Knack are the ones I've played a lot on a PS4.

Really looking forward to No Man's Sky and The Last Gaurdian in the next few months.
