Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Things you expect Nintendo learned from the Wii U?

What are the things you expect Nintendo to have learned with the Wii U and therefore be amended when they release their next console?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

droughts are bad

IMO things they learned and things will not repeat with NX are: you need to have strong, good and straight out marketing, strong launch and 1st year lineup, competitive price, platform that is easy to develop and port for.

What NX needs above all else is to be Nintendo's only platform after its release. Considering we haven't heard anything about a new handheld being in development, this seems to be the plan.

Will certainly help with avoiding droughts.

Nothing if I m being honest

Knowing Nintendo, nothing.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Hopefully to not have a tablet as a controller again.

That one gamepad was three too few.

It very unrealistic to think that Nintendo didn't learn nothing and that they will not change nothing after their worst selling console in their long history.

For instance we know that recognized that Wii U had bad marketing, weak launch titles and software drouths, unapiling gamepad, high price of console...for instance just Zelda BotW is much stronger title than any Wii U title in whole 1st year. Not to mentione that last year or two Nintendo internally and externally making huge changes.

1-advertise always everything;
2-you can't go much far without third party support

If they realized this two points and adapt consequently then NX will be succesfull
