Forums - PC Discussion - Best Gaming Laptop for $1000

Also waiting for the new chips to release to get a new laptop. I have no problems waiting till the holidays to get a new one. I have been using AMD for like the past 5 years, althought not for gaming. So will probably stay whith amd next round as well. Pretty sure There will be a decent deal on the holidays that will hit 1080p60 no problems that will leave you money to spare, or get somethin better if you want.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I guess I should probably wait. I saw a few other laptops around $1000 but when I look at the video cards listed I usually just see Intel HD Graphics 520 with shared memory, and I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea for gaming. Perhaps if I wait, my budget will also go up too.

So an i7 that's dual core is slower than an i5 with quad cores, despite being the same gen? I found this laptop as well, and though it's out of stock, I'm thinking I could try to hunt it down somewhere else:

The RAM is really high, it's got an NVIDIA 950M but the core is a dual-core i7

Have you tried ibuypower or cyberpower? I honestly don't know anything about laptops but their desktops were pretty good when I compared them to raw parts from Newegg.

I've heard good things about ncix.com, which is Canadian. http://www.ncix.com/category/gaming-laptop-1b-1323.htm

I'd probably go Asus or MSI.

I found an MSI that might be a good bet:

It's got the quad-core i5, but the graphics are 940MX, so I'm not sure how good that is.

Edit: lost track of the pricing as I was browsing. There was a 5th gen i7 available sub-$1000:
