Forums - Gaming Discussion - The longest working console you've ever owned

Among the consoles/handhelds you've owned, which one has lasted you longer in a working condition? And how long was that?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Are you getting paid by the point, Abbath?

My SNES is still going strong. Played some Street Fighter and Turtles in Time over Christmas. So that's 25 years in working order.

Edit: I'll also add that this particular SNES fell down a flight of stairs. Twice.

The oldest console add-on I have, is my Famicom Disk System. It still works. Everything of mine still works.

I've had the same NES since I was three. I'm 27.

24 years of reliable service. Yay Nintendo.

Do handheld systems count as consoles? Just wondering.

Well, I broke my ps1 by physically disc swapping too much with a mod device to play booted games, but it still turns on fine, the laser is fine, everything "works" per se I just broke the part the disc snaps on to.

Also would have a working ps2 if not for disc swapping custom copies of guitar hero at a certain boot screen... Lent it to friends with the face plate off and they broke the machine.

The N64 we have laying around still works... Sometimes. It randomly freezes and I think it has something to do with the component cables on the back. Sometimes it works fine though, things built like a tank

Not sure whether my SNES or my top loading NES is older. They both still work.

bet: lost

I guess my N64. Its about 18 years old and still works perfectly fine.

My Wii (6 years and counting) and my Gameboy Color (10 years +)!

I had two PS2 and they both died... My PS1 is also dead...

Honorable mention to my old model PS3 (6 years+).

My original NES still works but blowing cartridges still required :P
