You don't think being able to get Halo without buying a multi hundred dollar console is going to cause a decline in sales? Halo pushes xbox, and so do their exclusives. If they have no exclusives, and I can get every xbox game on pc, why would I want an xbox?

Because you prefer consoles

And what exactly is a console? Something with a controller, has exclusive games, can connect to your tv? All of those things pc has (I use 360 controller on some steam games, for example). What exactly is a console and what makes it entitled to have it's own name (console) compared to pc's which can do the exact same stuff, only better?

Won't be much.

According to the devs 98% bought Rise of Tomb Raider on Steam lol.

Crazy that people still think hardware sales will decrease.

Especially when some of those same people claiming the Xbox is now dead, think the PS4 will be fine after Neo launches, even though the same logic applies. Superior hardware launching that gets all the same games. Yet where is the flood of "why buy a PS4?" threads? lol

To be fair, I don't think that either scorpio or neo will sell that well but I believe that the slims will have a substantial effect on the sales of the base xbox one and PS4.

The part that will hurt is the exclusives going to pc, not the multiplats that are already there.

If they're not leaning so much on expensive hardware to produce, then they should have more profits to gain. Xbox has been announcing hardware losses on the regular these past quarters. Minimizing that would be effective.

ROTR sold about 2 Million on Xbox One... (1.2 according to VGC + digital sales) If that accounts to 2% of the total sales...

ROTR sold 98,000,000 on Steam CONFIRMED!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

He's referring to the PC split. If i remember correctly, it was mentioned in an article about the Lionhead closure.
