Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Eiji Aonuma all but confirms Skyward sword HD

Not all that excited honestly but I'd still probably get it, motion controls and all. The biggest problem with the controls for me was that you couldn't actively turn motion on or off with a button press.

For example, an enemy would block on Link's left, so you'd need to hit his vulnerable side from Link's right. However, getting your hand into position to hit him from the right would often cause a left swipe first. If the motion could be activated by holding down a button, you could position your hand however you wanted before activating the sword swipe.

I also hated having to motion swipe every frick'n time I just wanted to cut some grass. Like someone else said, it got old really fast, and the fact that Link couldn't run and swing his sword like in TP felt like a step back for me. Overall I think they did some creative things with the controls, but I certainly hope they never go that route again.

Still miles better than the horrid control choice in the DS games though.

Hardly, if they working on SS HD that most likely will be 2018 title (no way they will release Zelda remastered and new Zelda in same year, they will push Zelda BotW hard through holiday season also), and Wii U will most likely be discounted next year, it basically dead now not to mention next year.

Well, It could still come to Wii U even if it releases 2018. Nintendo said that the NX is not a replacement for the Wii U.  But honest, that's a lot of Zelda games in the same generation.

Wii U is already dead, next year most likely will be discounted, Nintendo never released game for previous system after new arrived on market. Of Course that NX is replacement for Wii U, Nintendo said is not "just a replacement", actually they said that NX will not be just upgraded Wii U, it will be completely new platform.

I personally think Skyward Sword's art style would look gorgeous in HD so I really hope this is true.

What are they going to do when everything's upgraded to HD? They'd have to start making original games!

I hope not, Nintendo relied far too much on the re-releases of previous Zelda games in the past few years, the series needs some rest after BotW is released, make another cool spin-off with Koei Tecmo (either HW2 or something completely different like that Sheik Spin-off people were talking about) and then release the next 2D Zelda on the 3DS successor

Skyward sword VR, Ocarina of time VR, Twilight princess VR and so on ...... lol.

Please do it without the Motion Control!

Motion Control of SS made it the WORST Zelda I`ve ever played!

The Bitch is back! And better then ever! #BritneyReturns

SONY Bring them BACK for PS4 and VITA!

I would like to play the game without motion controls, it was great back then but now they should expand the audience because it's really a great game.

It's great because of the motion controls though, remove the motion controls and you remove the main gameplay element as the game's focus was immersive control.

i don't think that's the main reason, the game has awesome dungeons and the story is really good. Lanayru mine and the whole lanayru desert is one of the best concept on any zelda game.
