It's like christianity without bacon.

Didn't Christianity forbid bacon too? If I recall, it stated it in Leviticus.

I don't know. I know leviticus forbids shellfish (Which to me is even more of a deal breaker than forbidding bacon) and forbids wearing clothes of different fabrics, but I can't recall anything about pork.

It does . I might be wrong but i think it was a part of Gods old covenant but when Jesus supposedly came as God he made a new covenant with the people and everything in the ols covenant doesn't need to be followed.

Islam is as irrational and false as any other religion, so I kind of treat them all the same. I don't think terrorists of any religion are acting in opposition to their religion at all times since religion often gives contradicting instructions to its followers. But most followers have a humanistic view of the world as their base and are therefore peaceful. This is just as true with Islam as with any other religion, that violent followers are a loud minority. The leaders of terrorist organizations are often power hungry politicians who use religion to direct their forces. They are the worst of all, since they are only out to manipulate people for power.

Leviticus is Old Testament, which Islam and Judaism is derived form, they share over 50 of the same characters, have allot of the same "events" etc'.
It is only natural for them to show an extreme amount of similarities.

But yes, the Bibles Old Testament is against Pork. "And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you."

Keep in mind, they are all Abrahamic religions... But where Christianity and thus the Bible "evolve" over the other two religions is with the New Testament, the Bible states that the Old Testament is no longer relevent, especially the Mosaic laws and should thus never be taken literally. (People still do: Re: Homosexuality.)

With that said, you have Christian Extremists and Terrorists, Judaism extremists and Terrorists, even Buddhist extremists, it's not the religions that are at fault, the fault lays with the individuals who... For the lack of a better word, lack a degree of intelligence and common sense. Aka. They are stupid.

Islamiphobia though does need to end, Muslims should also take a more proactive stance in that regard in the Western world and fight to change peoples opinions by setting good examples and education.
At the end of the day we all bleed the same colour of blood and should be treated with respect, regardless of sexuality, gender, religious affiliation, race, wealth and more.

I'm Ex-Muslim and all I can say is based on personal experience, based on what Muslim society is like, the norms, the customs, the values and the actions carried out in the name of Islam by extremists and fundamentalist Muslims who justify their behaviour by directly quoting verses from the Qu'ran, Islam is a very problematic religion that is desperately in need of sweeping reforms and the apologists need to pull their head out of their asses and realise what a problem & a threat Islamic civilisation is to the wider world.

Religious extremism is as prevalent within Christianity as within Islam, only promoted differently:

Also, opposing gay marriage, abortion for women and transgender individuals right to go to the restroom that corresponds to the gender they identify with are just a few examples of when so-called christian politicians regulate people´s everyday life in america while referencing (right or wrong) god as their guide. It´s not about Islam in anyway, it´s about people´s hunt for power of others and their use of religion to do so.

A religion like all others, just happens to be I am not a fan of religion. So me and a muslim probably shouldn't discuss about religion or theology. As for being afraid of muslims nope, although I still believe that the recent mixing of mostly Syrian refugees and the constant flow of North Africans which are mostly muslims will not end well for Europe.

So can't say I am all that much of a huge fan of the religion since it appears to me it's a breeding ground for terrorism and civil wars in the Middle East. As for moderate integrated muslims, well they are individuals like the rest of us, so I don't really have an opinion over them, except that I wonder why educated people in the West still prefer religion over science.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Just another religion abused by deranged idiots to justify murder.

Definitely.

The thing about Islam (and Judaism and Christianity), is that you get a lot of great religious writings and texts that are great like :

'Treat people nicely'

'Be honest'

'Don't be a dickhead'

obviously paraphrasing there a bit lol, but you get what I mean. But then things get poisoned with shit like :

'Unbelievers should be shunned/killed/feared/etc'

'You must follow this asinine illogical rule because reasons'

'Anyone who doesn't follow our very specific religious dogma is doomed to hell/damnation/death/whatever'

'OUR religious path is the only real way, everyone else is wrong'

After reading a vast amount of religious texts, I get the same schizophrenic impression from all of them. And often, just a bunch of arbitrary nonsense that seems like thinly veiled ravings of crazy religious leaders throughout history.

I don't have thoughts on Islam. All of the Muslims I know are wonderful people. Just like the rest of us, some of them are bonkers.
