Forums - Nintendo Discussion - People needs to calm down in regards of Breath of the Wild

Why not? Zelda has a lot of standards to live up to, so it makes sense that the newest "most ambitious" Nintendo game ever is overhyped. Let people dissapoint themselves if they cant control their feelings, but let Nintendo also know we want the best from them.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

The fact that it's hyped means that a lot of people like what they see. And this from seeing gameplay.

If this was an EA cinematic trailer or a Peter Molyneux game, then we could talk about overhyping.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I actually find this a common trend with alot of Nintendo games, too many times now I've listened to this internet hype and bought these highly praised Nintendo games only to be disappointed.

The Zelda Cycle is real.

But in this case it's not just the fact that the Zelda Cycle exists. It's the fact that this game truly breaks ground for Zelda in a way we legitimately haven't seen in almost 20 years. This is how I imagine people looked at OoT in 1997 as they prepped for release the next year.

Anybody expecting the next X is going to be disappointed anyway, because Zelda Cycle; those expecting a good Zelda will almost surely be satisfied and then some.

Personally, if this is OoT, I cannot wait for the modern day MM.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Oh man, I remember reading about it in Nintendo Power when it was still known as Zelda 64. Those were heady times

Is this in fact the Zelda game which has had the longest development time? I mean if they are putting that amount of time into the game then I can only imagine that it should hopefully pay off big, I know that Star Fox Zero was in the works for a very long time and that turned out poorly enough, but I don't think that SFZ had half of the development staff figures working on it for that same period of time.

I just actually hope people are going to go out and buy this game, doesn't matter if it's Wii-U or NX if people don't get behind this title which Nintendo seem to think is the next big thing then I could see it really knocking the confidence that Miyamoto has in his own work being out of touch or that the Higher ups in Nintendo might not have faith in him either going forwards if it doesn't sell hardware.

As beautiful as the game looks and as hyped as people were for it at E3, you have to look at Breath of the Wind and remember that it is on a platform which has failed and another which has yet to be shown to the public, if the NX is the Wii 2.0 then Zelda will sell buckets just because the hardware will be flying out the door, but if the NX is the Wii-U2.0 then things will be very different for the title but not because of any fault in the title itself but the platforms it is on.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

No, peoples hype is nice and refreshing since it was non existent during Skyward Sword. The game looks great, no ones expecting a metacritic of 99

It's kind of odd, in a way. I mean, the environment looks amazing but what I've seen of the combat and enemies, they're just kind of ... good. Not bad but also not the most amazing things in the world. Elder Scrolls, to me, is about exploring, about the atmosphere and mystery, about finding demons, vampires, and dragons around the corner, or maybe a crack in the earth that will take you to the depths of hell. I'm not sure BoW will have that level of engagement with the overworld.

In that regard, I think the true quality of this game is going to hinge on the dungeons, which we haven't seen yet, have we? The dungeons will be the element that takes this game to the next level or not.

As far as towns go, I'm different than most rpg fans, as I reached the height of my enjoyment of towns long ago and now I just want them to be as convenient as possible.

Consider it done.
