Forums - Gaming Discussion - Shortest single player campaign in a retail video game

Do fighting games count? I played this Naruto game on the Gamecube when I was a kid, that only had one unlockable character, and a story mode that was just like five fights in a row.

The Souls games right? Speed run in an hour or less. Damned short if you ask me.

There is no way to even a speed runner to do it on less than one hour.
Not to say the amount of preparation, knowledge about the game, bosses patterns and specially break points, game route (to avoid optional areas) and muscle memory needed to speed run those games is quite a lot, but even so, just the boss fights alone being (around 15) and the time needed to the character to reach their places makes it vurtyally impossible to be made at less than a hour without any kind of exploting some bug/glitch if there is any.

Enjoy:

· https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpvhwX7xDeo (Dark Souls 2 in 54 minutes, no major glitches or exploits)

· https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IZgC4DpgBw (Bloodborne in 52:46 in-game-time / 1:02:18 Real Time / No exploits nor glitches at all)

· https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P-fqWOtTHo (Dark Souls 3 in 53:42, no glitches or exploits)

Can't find any of Dark Souls 1 All Bosses/No glitches under an hour, but there's one about 1:20:00, so I guess it's still good.

The Order 1886 if it didnt have the movies and strange rotation of items.

I remember warhounds or something on X360 also had a suprt short campaign, it was like a tutorial, but that was more a multiplayer game, so thats overall better then the order.

If I remember correctly, Super Dodge Ball took me 60 minutes to beat.

soul calibur's story mode was like 4 or 5 fights on the PS3.

i think you could finish it in 15 minutes

I recall finishing the original super mario brothers in 8 minutes.

Also, I always felt like Pokemon XY's story was short. Then again, that's probably for the better. Team flare was horrendous. In all honesty, I would have loved to make the AZ storyline much longer and more detailed.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

How far back are we allowed to go? because Parapa the Rapper took about 25 minutes to complete.

Hmm, pie.

SOme games if you skip the cutscenes and don't count the forced walking sections take the same amount of time as well.

I need examples.

The Order 1886, and Ryse would be two that jumps to mind. Granted it might be a small exaggeration, but very little gameplay is offered in these.
