This may be a sign that Nintendo is focusing more heavily on Spla2oon and it may be ready next year for NX.

Splatfest hardly take effort to make so Splatoon 2 probably isn't the reason. It really sucks though, no moar night stages and no more sea snails.

...Although if it was because of Splatoon 2 then maybe that'd mean NX reveal in August.
