Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is The Hype For Final Fantasy XV Dying?

Uh its not dying? If anything enthusiasm for FF15 is at a high. Under Nomura FF15 might as well as been vaporware.

The blue one is FFXV, a multiplatform game and you know what the red line is...

Uncharted 4. An exclusive.

If I was SE, I will panicked already.

Hype for me was killed during the pretty terrible showing at E3. The only reason I haven't cancelled my pre-order yet is because I have the Ultimate Collector's Edition pre-ordered and I'm scared I may change my mind later on and regret cancelling it. I'm sure I'll end up getting the game eventually, but I'm not sure about getting it day 1 anymore.

Hype is dying because:

1-Games that are shown over years tend to lose appeal. The more a person sees something the less they pay attention.
2-I hear people were not impressed by the 2 demos.

From Neogaf's Abdiel:

Lol. Dampened the hype, huh? I guess that's GAF for you.

Preorders for the game are higher than ever, folks. We didn't lose any copies after E3, though the MS showing didn't earn it any new ones for the XB1 version, it seems like.

It's one of the highest preordered games I have in my list of SKUs right now, it's been accumulating for awhile, but the PS4 SKU has been building steady and after some of the showings with Uncovered and so on, it's gotten solid boosts. I think it's going to do well for itself.

Not COD numbers or anything. But that would be absurd anyway.

Edit - By the way, this thread is hilarious. Seriously guys. Hyperbole out the ass, oh my god you all are amazing. <3

I hope he's right on the game preorders but the game needs more media coverage especially after that tragic E3 demo.

it's dying because it should have came out 7 years ago....

I not sure where going with this.

Exclusives ALWAYS get more hype/buzz than multi platform games. Thats normal. Hell the new CoD was revealed to low fanfare ... It will still do its 15-20mill whatever. MGSV didnt have anywhere near MGS4 but it didnt stop mgsv series from nearing 10mill.

I dunno I think it's pretty hyped. And with the movie releasing in Japan soon I imagine if the movie is good that the hype will increase.

That's not true considering MGSV had more buzz and media coverage than MGS4. Call of Duty Black Ops3 had more coverage than Uncharted 4.

Another thing -How did all that Uncharted 4 hype translate to sales? It has long way to go in just overtaking the collection.

Internet hype doesnt mean anything. Been proven many timed especially in regards to FF
