Male or Female?

Male 99 40.08%

Female 64 25.91%

Both 82 33.20%

Other 2 0.81%

it depends on the artstyle, for something like Bloodborne and Souls i prefer male characters because it fits more with the world. If its an Anime type game, usually female. But i am not a fan of costumisation for characters in general

I think I may have asked this once in a thread a long time ago, haha, but my answer depends. I'll go either one depending on the game. Pokemon games I tend to like the girl designs, so I pick that one EXCEPT for Silver/Gold. I love the design of the male in that one, so male always for S/G.

Does that include HGSS? And does that mean you are capable of recognising an ugly hat when you see one?

Yeah, that one too xD Though the guy looks cooler in the original. Yeah, I guess I can see ugly hats when I see them. The girl's hat in HGSS does look pretty dumb. The girl must have a really huge head...

Oh yeah, I forgot, I play males in Harvest Moon/ Rune Factory games. I don't want to marry doods

3rd person games I prefer playing as a hot chick if I have the option. First person, who cares? But I prefer listening to and looking at females in my games.

Depends on the game or the choice I guess. In Fallout, it kind of makes sense to pick a female even though it's a First Person game as there are perks that allow you to manipulate or do more damage to the seemingly higher male population. In Borderlands out of the choice of characters, I just go for the one with the ability that helps me the most. Bloodborne I played female but it really doesn't do anything story/player/costume wise so is pointless. In ME or Dragon Age, female but will usually do both in playthroughs.

Hmm, pie.

...to pretent you're a woman trapped in a man's body?

I mostly play as male. And maybe in a few occasions as female.

Going female whenever I can. Even if I'm stuck with a male protagonist I try to surround him with as much females I can. Like the fun times I had in AC Brotherhood where I recruited only female assassins and let all of the males die.

There was only one game where I took male against my better judgement and that was DAO. The roleplaying in that game was too intense and it was weird to always be referred to as a woman. Also the lesbian romance options sucked.

There are so many great capable female characters in this world so I really don't see a reason to have any males in games at all.

Just out of curiosity. Why do you prefer playing with a female protagonist?

Is the answer related to sexual frustration?

umm if you read her post correctly she is a man hater and most likely a feminist.  the type you wanna bring home to mom.

I usually play as a male but I like games that give you the choice to play as either male or female characters. Especially if they are also highly customize-able.
