Male or Female?

Male 99 40.08%

Female 64 25.91%

Both 82 33.20%

Other 2 0.81%

Total:247

Unless I'm "forced" to play as a female, I play as my gender, which is male. I don't do traps.

Why not? :C

I'm fine with either, and I'll play as both. Depends on the character I'm going for.

If the character is just an avatar, and his/her only interactions with the world are through menus, then I'll pick the male option. The female might look cuter, but it ruins my immersion somewhat.

If the character interacts with the world in the same way the rest of my party does, then I could be either, depending on my mood. If I like the game enough, I'll pick both.

I'm struggling to remember any section of Nier you didn't play as Papa Nier. Which was this? Are you sure you're not confusing it with another game?

Maybe I just played until I got his female partner. Could have sworn I played as her!

You never play as Kaine, I would remember such thing. :C

Depends on character design. Mostly as a male but in Digimon I chose female since I liked the design more

in fighting games I tend to pick female, everything else I mostly use male.

I think I may have asked this once in a thread a long time ago, haha, but my answer depends. I'll go either one depending on the game. Pokemon games I tend to like the girl designs, so I pick that one EXCEPT for Silver/Gold. I love the design of the male in that one, so male always for S/G.

Character creation games I go either way. It depends on which side I am able to make a more interesting character. Saints Row 2 I went with an evil looking Luigi with a big nose, but in Saints Row 3, I went with a girl robin-esque looking character. However, if I can set up a girl with twin tails and glasses, I go with that option. ALWAYS.

I guess for me, it really comes down to design, or I play the game twice for both genders.
