Forums - General Discussion - Is becoming a vegetarian/vegan worth it?

Holy FUCK this thread got pretty long. Can't believe it's been several months already.

Anyway, here's what happened if anyone cares (probably not):

From June-August I simply tried to cut down how much sugar and fat I consumed. Stopping this and forcing better habits was good, but i was still on the border of healthy and unhealthy. I was still skinny, but i was considered 'skinny fat' by my doctor. Even with moderate exercise, I was still able to improve a lot more.

End of August I was about 190 and told myself to get it together. Today I'm about 160, so I'm honestly pretty damn happy. Some changes i made:

1. Red meat consumption cut by 90%
2. Mainly eat chicken or seafood
3. Drink about 65-85 ounces of water
4. Calorie cap of 1900-2100
5. Starting weight lifting for the first time in my life - did it 3 dahs a week; also dod cardio 4 days a week
6. Only eat one junk food every week

For anyone who's feeling unsatisfied with their health, I managed to do this in the span of about 9 weeks (end of August to today). It wasn't easy, but being physically appealing and feeling great is something everyone should experience themselves.

For anyone curious, my increases just from cutting red meat and dietary shifts are rather incredible. My planner says I started on August 30th, so these are my results in 70ish days:
[...]

I am very interested in your experience, thank you for sharing it!  I'm glad it's made a difference for you.  I'm fully plant-based now, but my journey started in the '80s so you've made successful changes a lot quicker, than I did.  I'm impressed.  :)

Would rather stop fapping for a week than become a vegan

Heh.  An ironic response given cholesterol from meat/dairy/eggs clogs the penile artery and is a leading cause of impotence.  Whereas a plant-based diet can not only repair erectile dysfunction, but can increase testosterone levels in men.  (Source:  https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/erectile-dysfunction/)

But keep fapping, while you still can.  ;)

How did this thread get do much replies?

Anyways, the best thing you can do for your health is eating a only a little bit of meat (max 500g per week, including fish and eggs). For enviormental reasons etc, becoming vegan is of course the best thing. However, that could possibly cause some health problems.

I can eat meat and beat meat, best of both worlds!!

I’ve become a flexitarian lately, eating more often vegetarian than not and really thinking about which meat I consume. Makes me a better feeling, healthier person...I feel I have more energy through the day, lost some weight as well.

Becoming a Vegan actually isn’t on the table for me I guess. There’s only so much Tofu and co can do.

Working hard and being strict helps. Telling yourself to eat a specific amount a day really makes it easy. I hovered around 2000 calories, and now I go around 1700-2200 depending on my exercise routine.

Just cause I don't want to be a vegan doesn't mean I don't eat veggies... The best part about not being a vegan is that you can eat whatever you want so yes... I will keep on fapping... Until I am dead or we run out of lube... ;)

is lube necessary for jerking off? Seems like overkill

Over the summer I've been working on my eating habits, and I've started to see more and more online articles about vegetarian and vegan diets.

Just do the world a favor, if you go vegan, don't spend the rest of your life telling anyone and everyone about it, nobody cares

Vegans are as bad as PETA with their bs.

Ya'll need to just lay off the soda and go out more.
