Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Woman sues Microsoft over forced Windows 10 upgrade and wins

Happened to my mom as well, an error occurred with the registry so the PC became impossible to boot (I wasn't there to fix it, I could have with a recovery disc/USB but that's far from the point). Good job, MS, good job.
I may never get Win 10 out of spite now, all the spyware isn't exactly tempting either.

It really took a lot of balls for MS to do this to people without thinking about the consequences. Upgrading everyone forcefully isn't going to turn out great for everyone. Your bound to screw up someones PC and that someone might have enough money and time to sue you. I honestly can't believe I didn't see this coming.

Awesome.

bet: lost

More to come.

Congrats to her. I still have 7, and i'm not planning on switching anytime soon.

I find it hard to believe she had never heard of W10 before...

But it was only a matter of time until someone did this and to be honest they deserved to win too. Really shitty practice from Microsoft!

If you ask most people what operating system they use in my experience the answer is often "PC" "windows" or "Office" even when prompted by asking them what version of windows they use, most casual PC users or office workers just wont have a clue.

Working in IT is actually amazing fun as long as you practice not laughing, not laughing is one of the hardest parts of the job which they never thought me during training.

They're so going to put something on this case to make it unique, they cannot allow this to become a class action suit.
