Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are console gamers too willing to accept things?

Ok. well reading the "Bethesda Treats Console games like shit" thread, i seen a very good point one user brught up in that thread that imo didnt get the attintion it deserved.

Console gamers are more willing to accept such things then PC gamers are thanks to exclusives.

let me explain (Or try to).

See exclusives force you into buying a piece of hardware you otherwise wouldnt need unless you wanted it.

This also means that since you have no other option to play their games, you must accept whatever they want to put on you, That or go to PC gaming or quite gaming.

This also means you become loyal to that brand and defending it even when they clearly do wrong.

I mean just think of the things console gamers have accepted from their own companys but wouldnt or would make backlash about it if it was anyone else.

Pay to play online.

Making you buy the same games again.

Are two of the biggest defenders i have seen console gamers both attack when it wasnt their console brand doing it, and defend them practice's when it was!.

The is a reason why PC gamers are not being charged again for Skyrim, and thats cos we would make massive backlash about it. Destory its reviews on steam etc etc.

IF they do charge for a remaster the game better be a good remaster. And it also better be cheap and have a massive discount if we already own the game.

We never accepted the push for Pay to play online when MS tried to Push it on us with GFWL.

Sony fans where so against MS charging for online play AND THEY WHERE RIGHT TOO! Why the fuck should you be paying for something that should be and is free on other systems??.

But then Sony comes out starts charging for always online and then it no longer matters.

If you guys wasnt loyal to Sony you would of never allowed them to do this. MS would of face massive backlash and should of faced it from their own fans also.

Exclusives, Pay to play online, Money Hatting, DLC, etc are all Anti Consumer things that loyal console fans are just willing to accept as long as its their own fav company doing it.

And yes, They will come up with excuse after excuse for why this must be and why its good.

So i ask why is it that some people cant step back out of that mind frame and say "Why am i willing to accept this from my fav company, but i wouldnt accept it from anyone else?".

I think its time console gamers started becoming more like PC gamers and start pushing more instead of just accepting anything your company is willing to do.

It made me happy when console gamers stud up to MS with their always on DMC thing.

But then in the back of my mind i fear that the only reason for that was its MS. I cant help but think if this was Sony it might of happened.

So are console fans more willing to accept things then fans of PC's?.

(This is not an attack on console gamers and should not be taking as such).

Lets keep the thread clean people as its a pretty good question imo.

You seem angry at some people, can I know who you are angry at?

Please don't refer to users as fanboys.

So thats it?. Not even a proper warning??.

Wow geez i wonder what would happen if i called PS4 fanboys the worse, since they assume PC Gamers have to upgrade every year to have ultra settings, Ignore the fact that they too now have to pretty much do the same if they want the best graphics. Act like 4K doesnt matter on PC but will make a big deal out of it when it comes to their console geez....

His post is completly off topic for this and he insults pretty much every pc gamer going and you just say "Dont call fanboys the rest is ok"...

This place really needs PC users as mods here. And dont give me the "We have mods who game on PC also". Clearly that doesnt matter as long as its not their main platform getting attacked. However when it comes to PC anything goes....

LOL. You clearly don't know what mod you are complaining about. CGI has one of the most ludicrously expensive PC on the forums.

And good job complaining about someone derailing your thread while derailing it further with this. xD

Gamers - people, rather - will accept a lot of BS to continue doing what they want.

- Mobile gamers like the free games & ease of access. They accept the reality of broken games filling the Play store, microtransactions & ads over said titles, and limited control options & game types.
- PC gamers like the very cheap prices, ease of access, getting games first, and ability to treat them like a stack of Legos they can shape to their whim. They accept the nonexistent used market, having accounts on multiple services like Steam & Uplay, sifting through piles of unfinished garbage, and devs / publishers letting their all-too-eager audience finish debugging and testing.
- Console gamers like the plug & play ease of use, the collectibility and used market, and AAA exclusives. They accept having to pay for online (though there are side benefits for those who care), relying entirely on devs to fix broken games, higher prices for less graphical fidelity, buying games multiple times due to no backwards compatibility, and last gen saw people replace bricked consoles multiple times.

I want this post on a T-Shirt. Sadly I'm not fat enough for this...

You nailed it though, people enjoy their hobby on what they enjoy their hobby on because of the traits of that system, I think it's mostly unique to gaming that you have people question how other people enjoy their activity of choice, rarely will you see golfers at a sports bar suggesting that Soccer players should use a club to score goals better or having Soccer players tell Golfers that a football would be easier to hit with a club. Maybe when gaming has been around for a couple of centuries we can get to the point where it isn't strange for other people to like different things.

Wait so you were a console gamer in 2014 but were part of the PC gamers who refused to pay for GFWL in 2009? but at the same time were paying for xbox live gold, also your rapir account seems to suggest the max number of achievements you have in a X360 game is 11/42 and psn achievements are non existant, maybe there's something I'm missing here.

Of all the things about this thread though, nothing of its creation is the least bit shocking to me.

Yes. Look back over my threads you will see that the PS4 was the first of the nextgen systems i got "IN" 2014 and it was also my last. Before this i owned a 360, PS3 and a Wii, Plus a PSP and 3DS. This isnt including my older consoles/handhelds from gens before this.

Anyone who knows me long enough on this site knows it was around 2012 when i "proper" got into PC gaming, but i still always owned and used consoles besides it. 2014 is the start of when i stopped using consoles beside my PC. But like i said this does in no way mean i will not ever buy another console.

Your missing a number of facts and trying to use raptor to say i never owned or played on consoles is very silly.

But let me give you a hint: I have had a number of different accounts on PSN and XBL for a number of different reasons that i dont feel like explaining here, since it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I didn't say that, if you read my post it clearly says you have 11 achievements in one game! Sometimes I think you need to just slow down and read comments and actually answer them rather than go directly to offended mode.

You haven't addressed the fact that you said you were part of the PC crew who refused to pay for GFWL on the PC in the OP but you weren't "properly" into PC gaming at the time, my post wasn't questioning the fact that you were not a console gamer then, but that you were not a PC gamer at the time when Games for Windows Live had a fee on the PC, or were you using the US term in "We never accepted the push for Pay to play online when MS tried to Push it on us with GFWL." in the same way a football supporter will use terms like We when referring to their team of choice not that they were actually playing the game? I just found that aspect confusing.

As for your account which is linked to your sig you can surely see how people might mistake it for the account you used through the generation since it contains launch games like NFS:Carbon, Halo 3 and older soccer titles like Fifa 2011, but if you've had accounts closed or so for various reasons I can understand that wouldn't reflect your true gamerscore on the xbox live network or psn.

Funny how you didn't mention PS Plus Games and Games with Gold.

If you don't pay then you don't get access, the concept itself is rather simple.

Didn't even take any of this seriously since your first sentence had "I seen"

What? Might be true of the X1 titles, but I still have a ton of X360 title licences from when that console was my system of choice. Month comes up, games are added to your account, simple as that, unsub and keep the games forever.

What does his gamerscore have to do with the topic at hand?. You seem to be digging into him, like playing some forced devils advocate to steer away the main subject being discussed and trying to throw in some personal information at hand, it almost reminds me of one dude accusing me of being some stalker for having my own Steam profile made private, it made no sense and he tried to argue the general want for priacy while also trying to defeat me through looking at how many games I have in my library, something which had nothing to do with what we were originally talking about.

Is there a ultra specific reason you are going at him with his gaming history towards the subject or is there some deeper meaning to this that I otherwise don't know about?.

And when the servers go down you won't be downloading those again, unless another official server is in place, how long they will be up for we don't exactly know.
