Forums - Gaming Discussion - Square Enix: PS4 version of Rise of the Tombraider is not canceled

Why we havent heard about the PS4 version as of yet. I think its likley that SE has cancelled the PS4 version altogether, because of the poor sales on Xbox One and PC, and i am not the only one thinking this way articles down below.

I'm waiting for PC version to go below $15, then I'll buy it. Skipping the PS4 version because it's going to be gimped anyways.

I don't get why people expected an announcement at e3.
At this point why would Sony give them any publicity, let alone premium publicity at their biggest event of the year.
I suppose Square could have talked about it, but its more likely they had bigger concerns at the show.

Microsoft would get very angry if this was true. xD

As a reboot hater, this is good news if true! :)

I love both new Tomb Raider Games. SE would be a idiot for not continue to support series.

I believe steam sales should be pretty good.

Of course it's still coming roflmao

Square Enix might simply not be allowed to advertise the PS4 version until a later date. It would defeat the purpose of timed exclusivity. I mean we don't know what the whole agreement with Microsoft really is.

I didn't realize it was even an option not to release it. Wouldn't a PS4 release recoup some development costs? There's a huge install base there, many of whom have been waiting for the game.

Am I missing something?

"The problem with exclusives in today's market is you have a clear market leader," founder and CEO of research firm DFC Intelligence David Cole said.

That much is true....when 2/3rds of the market are PS4, you want your game there.
