Seems the first one didnt fare to well. either Microsoft wasnt happy with its sales, or insomniace wasnt. thought it is a shame, the first one seemed really cool. i think they should find a publisher for the second one, and release it on PS4, XB1 and PC. i think that way it can get more sales to sustain the franchise.

I imagine Insomniac want to do another Ratchet game after the success of the reboot, It's a series they've been doing for 14 years I don't expect them to stop now, and as Spiderman is apparently going to be a whole series of games they've got their plate pretty full.

For some reason I thought Sucker Punch were doing Spiderman. Insomniac are chucking out games left right and center these days

Yeah, not surprised. The first one kinda crashed and burned sales wise, though it did manage to scrape out a million. Supposedly. Although we are about as sure of that as we are of the Bayonetta 2 sales iirc :P. Shame, it got good ratings mostly. However, Sunset Overdrive should provide good experience for the Spiderman game since it was an open world with a focus on traversal.

Witch Ratchet and Clank and now Spiderman, I would think Insomniac would be hard pressed to have the resources to develop a SO2.

Spiderman has the potential to sell 10 million so right now they will just focus on making spiderman

They seem like the better fit. Though, I have full confidence in Insomniac to deliver.  And it does make you wonder what Sucker Punch is working on.

Such sad news.
Sunset Overdrive was a fantastic game, amazing art, decent gameplay with some original mechanics and lots of tongue-in-cheek humor.
Downside was that it was a collect-a-thon, but that is easily forgivable.

It should have released on more platforms to appeal to a larger audience and attract more gamers for the sequel as this is one of the bad sides of exclusivity if it doesn't do well on 1 platform.
