celine said: Kwaad you don't understand one thing : The real console's health meter is software sales not hardware sales !!! Go look if N64'software sales was better than Ps1's in Japan or USA. N64 had vast Nintendo's best selling titles but not the software stream of Ps1 for many reason cited by Aston. Wii JAp launch is very good because Wii software sales are great ( Wii sports is a Killer App ). Ps3 JAp launch is very bad because Ps3 software sales are low ( Ps3 Jap Top seller ? RR7 with 120K units ).
Yes I agree wholey. I think PS3 hardware units will sell in march and onward. it takes units to sell games. There are no games to buy for PS3 that seem fun. everything on the wii... seems... fun. read my pose about rub-a-dub in refrence to 'fun'. PS3 will sell games. Just not till march. (sony's trend is... to bomb on the first year, take the market the 2nd year, and rule the market after that) Will sony do it that fast this time? Probibally not with the Wii. But I bet it will for the X360. EDIT: Any anyone that says the PS3 is off to a worse start than the x-box 360... http://www.vgcharts.org/usaconscomps.php?name1=PS3&name2=X360&type=0 Think about this. the x-box 360 had no competition. The PS3 is competing agianst the 250$ Wii. That no-one knew about when the x-box 360 came out. Also, that is america, the 360s strogest market. the japanese market is doing as well as the 360 in europe. (averageing 14 months into 3million*3months=average 360's sold in europe over 3 months. almost the same number as the PS3 in japan. the PS3 hasnt made it to Europe yet, so you cant really compare it side by side. if this site is correct, the PS3 sales will be about 25% higher than the 360. WITH competition from the new Wii, and the established 360. Alot of people. (like me) didnt get one at x-mas because I knew they would be too hard to find, and couldnt wait in line for the PS3 because of work. I could for the Wii. I found one the day after x-mas. And I've felt ripped off since I got it. The Wii feels like a glorifyed GC. the PS3 is badass. :END EDIT

Mamec your January 2009 Wii numbers will be eclipsed by the end of this year. How are my statements poor? The Wii is selling better in the US than Japan. So Nintendo must be doing a pretty good job of "faking" Americans out. The Wii is the fastest selling system in Europe, I guess they are being "faked out" as well. Here in the US, retailers still horde Wii shipments for Sunday sales and the system still sells out. Its almost February and Wii demand has yet to subside. The Wii sales are akin to the 360 from last year except the Wii has a higher and much more steady supply. Sure the Wii's moment come could fade, but even if that occurs your numbers are still well below reasonable. Have you looked at Japanese sales trends? The Japanese market seem to eat up "non games" as you the DS sales continue to prove. The Wii is following a similar philosophy with a similar software. As such its been outselling the PS3 3 to 1. As such the Wii holding an 8 million to 6 million advantage over the PS3 is unlikely. A 12 million to 6 million or 12 million to 4 million split would be more likely. While your 360 numbers are reasonable over all, 1.5 million is unlikely. That would require the 360 to sell 1.2 million systems over the next two years. It has only sold just over 300,000 systems in 14 months. I hope 360 sales pick up in Japan. The system has been doing much better lately. I can see your numbers panning out if the 360 does what I think it will and continue to hold a commanding lead over the PS3 in the US and Europe. Japanese developers would likely increase support for the 360 because of its advantage in the Western markets. That support could yield more Japanese centric games for the 360 in Japan.

I would say your a fanboy. a 11 to 12 year old fanboy with very poor grammar. I agree with Darc. Also, could you please send me a link to a decent gameing PC for under 600$? Since you really need a C2D anymore, the cheapest computers with those run over 500$. Add a decent GeForce7. and your looking at well over 600$. God Forbid you put a GeForce8 in it... I built mine on a budget. and it ran up to 1275. So... Your gaming computer for 600$ can run oblivion? at 1080p? All setting maxed? And play BluRays? Does it have WiFi as well? I can understand stupid people talking about consoles, as you don't have to be a genius to buy them. Mine can do everything the PS3 can do... so far. but it cant do BluRays. but my computer cost 2x a PS3. A computer is different. How about you build a 'decent' gaming computer to run Crysis? that's all I want to see. your 600$ computer run Crysis... @ 1080p. meh. your ability to say you can buy a gameing computer for 600$ proves how far off your numbers are.
1-No man, do you don't need a Core Duo 2 whit a Pentium D it's suffice. 2-Man, can run PS3 or Xbox360 Oblivion at 1080p and all setting mixed? (please especify, WHAT video settings?) 3-Blu-Ray (Why this?), better waits and buy a HD-DVD Writer much cheapper than a Blu-Ray unit. ¿Why do you want a single Blu-Ray player?, this only marries you to purchase tomorrow a BD intern for the PC. 4-Crysis... man, do you have look the system requeriments?. Minimum Requirements CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0) RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista HDD: 6GB Internet: 256k+ Optical Drive: DVD Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP Recommended Requirements CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D) Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent RAM: 1.5Gb HDD: 6GB Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream) Optical Drive: DVD Software: DX10 with Windows Vista Where is Crysis for Xbox 360 or PS3?.

Nintendo can done a good 'joke' in US around 80's. When Famicom was launched the 16bits computer Amiga, Atari ST costs 600$, isn't a miracle what Famicom become a hit (a console whit commodore64 graphics and 1/3 as an 16 bit computer cost) and whit a very 'clean' market after the video game crash whitout Atari Mattel and Coleco. About the Microsoft in japan, if in a year it sells the same than PS3 in a month (cristhmas included) something is wrong whit Xbox 360 and their exclusive titles or Wii doesn't had the blame.

January 2009 North America Xbox 360 20mill PS3 10mill Wii 6mill Europe Xbox 360 10mill PS3 8mill Wii 3mill Japan Wii 8mill PS3 6mill Xbox 360 1.5mill This is suffice for a console gaming crash

I think Wii will do better than that.
