I'm pretty good at knowing what I'll like it seems lol

Really, I just don't often see a game and write it off unless it looks terrible, so rarely am I THAT wrong in my expectations... struggling to think of an answer.

Seriously, I got nothing lol

That's not the point though. Did you ever buy anything you weren't sure off but wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
Or some cheap sale, bundle or ps+ game you didn't expect much from yet turned out to be great.

Or do you never try something new :)

I really can't think of anything that surprised me lol

I donno, I'd have to go back a ways to when the internet was new and I was still trying out mystery games... Pilotwings and Winback were welcome surprises I guess?

Usually I have a sense that I'll like a game before I get it, even if I don't know too much abou tit.

Mass Effect 2. Always thought it was a sub-par game until I had the chance of playing it on PS3. And I loved it!

Tomb Raider, the new one. Looking at previews and gameplay I wasn't convinced until I played it. I was impressed.

Those were the days before the internet. Of course since most of my games were pirated it didn't cost anything to try out new stuff, and without prior knowledge it made it all much more exciting. I still have surprises now and then, didn't think I would like Outlast for example. It's gotten rare though, not as much time to try anything I'm not already reasonably sure of.

I bought Destiny 2nd hand as my friends were raving about it while it doesn't look that appealing to me. I never got to actually trying it and now I'm 2 major updates behind anyway. I miss those discoveries though. Knytt underground, free ps+ game, started it, thought it was quite naff, loved it after an hour, couldn't stop exploring the entire map. Nowadays I only add ps+ games to my library, still haven't finished Uncharted 4 yet ugh, kinda stuck in a gaming lull.

That parkour zombie game.

Thought Dragon's Dogma looked really meh before playing it and loving it

I didn't like MGS at first. Now it's my favourite videogame saga.
