Winter’s arrival means Game of Thrones cast members may receive a longer vacation than usual.
Game of Thrones executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss told the UFC Unfiltered podcast that production on season 7 will begin at a later date than what’s normal for the series.
“We’re starting a little bit later because, at the end of this season, winter is here, and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more,” Weiss said. “We kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim, gray weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
