Forums - Movies & TV - Game of Thrones "Winds of Winter" Season 6 Finale Impressions?

Actually, it is my favorite episode of the series. Hope Winds of Winter (the book) releases this year so that I can see what is made up and what is real canon before season 7. Although I do like how the show has done things, even if they are different. I can see the wildfire the explosion being canon, but not how it is done in the series unless GRRM works some magic to get there. I also wonder whether or not Sansa will have a role with regards to Jon Snow in the books, hopefully and probably.

What an episode. Just amazing. The first 10 minutes might be my favourite scene of any TV show ever. The music, cinematography... Beautiful stuff. So, about this series being slow... What the hell, a lot of amazing things happened this season!

To me this season had the best episode of all seasons ( episode 9 ) , one amazing (episode 10 ) and 1 great ( the hodor episode ) the rest was kinda slow and predictable.

They spend almost all the budget in these  3 episodes.

I wasn't a fan about episodes 2 and 3, but, still, lots of stuff have happened this season in comparison with the last one, which felt really staled tbh. Now I have a picture about where the show is heading, but last season it all felt... chaotic and just without a clear sense of direction. I don't know if it's a popular opinion, but once the show got past the books, it just felt way more dynamic imo.

In more than one way, this episode is similar to the Red wedding.

Especially when Catelyn fully grasped the horror that was about to happen, and when it happened it exceeded her (and the viewers) expectations. Margaery found herself in a similar position, but in her case, it was the incompetence of the High sparrow that led to her defeat, actually, her demise started when she was allowed to see Loras in the cell and he asked her to "make it stop, whatever it takes".

Probably the best episode of the entire show.

Boring season with 2 good episodes. The best moment was still Hodor's death.

My favorite season finale of the series. This epsiode had everything from action, politicking, unexpected deaths and really pushed the story into overdrive.

The writers have made it clear that they are more meticulous defining characters as heros or Villians in this season and really condensed the story to a centralized point to get us ready for the series finale.

This can be seen as a double edged sword as some characters that I used to think where very layered have become very one dimensional. For example Cersei used to be a complex individual that would ride or die for her kids safety and do things to better her and Jamie's position. Now it just seems that she is solely going for power making her the story's super villian.

Overall I thought this season was pretty good, better than season 5 but not better than season 4 (which in my opinion is the best season of the show by far). This epsiode is top tier and gets me hype for next season.

Hordor's death was overrated asf, I actually thought that episode was one of the worst in GoT history.

I really liked this season, but I'm afraid we'll have one of those happy endings, at the end of the series...

I still think episode 9 was the best. It was the most intense episode to date and the sense of war and death has never had me more on edge on any film out program than episode 9.

I got the sense of conclusion quite early on this season and most the episodes have felt very slow, just building up as the pawns for the end game are moved into place.

The Jon Snow reveal was a long time coming and Bran along with the children of the forest was predicted a while back by fans.

It looks like the next season will be cover:

1) Jon Snow making preparations in the north as the wall comes down.

2) Dragon army arriving and establishing itself whilst Jamie takes out the Queen (for killing Tom).

3) the Hound taking out the Mountain.

4) Bran reuniting with Rob and Sansa and the truth coming out.

Final Season:

1) Starks, Targearyans, Tyrells, remaining Lannisters etc uniting against the white walkers.

2) final battle to take place in Winterfell.

3) there will be 3 Dragon Riders: Deanery's, Jon and Tyrion (Tyrion being a bastard Targearyan which is why his dad never liked him).

I thought it was the only emotional moment of the show.
