Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie thinks Wii U will have a strong Holiday performance, says they have games coming to the system.

Well, he really doesn't, but what's he gonna say?

PR guy saying PR things. He should have just said Nintendo at large have some games coming so it would have included Pokémon and all of those RPGs.

Well, he can't say that the WiiU is going to nosedive saleswise the closer and closer the NX gets. Not surprising.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah.  He can't exactly say "we don't got shit" and shrug his shoulders.

What games? Paper Mario is in October. Is he talking about indies?

They have Paper Mario Color Splash, Just Dance 2017, and Skylanders coming for fall 2016, that's three retail releases so "games" is not technically a lie, lol. They have more than one game.

So Reggie just went directly against what Kimishima and Iwata have been saying about the relatioship between the WiiU and NX.
The NX was supposed to be sold alongside both the 3ds and WiiU and not be a simple replacement for either one system. By saying that thei're transitioning to NX we can at least confirm that it is indeed a replacement for wiiU. If it will also replace 3ds we will see.

See. This is why I don't trust anybody, anymore.

It was cycycychris that described it as "transitioning". Reggie just said "in 2017 we'll look forward to the NX". That doesn't mean Wii U will be forgotten, just that it won't be their headline system, anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some unannounced games for the Wii U still, even if it's just a couple.
