Forums - Politics Discussion - Can you imagine a world without any religion?

You are not thinking rationally here. Religions exist because there are questions we will never know the answers.

How did time and space start?
Did time and space have a beginning?
Or does time and space have no beginning and no end?
Do parallel universes exist?
etc..

There are only theories to answer these questions.
and the one question that creates religions:

What is going to happen after we die?

Now, have you ever asked yourself that last question? What is going to happen to me when i die? I have no doubt that anyone with a conscious mind have asked and will ask themselves that question. Religions offer an answer to that question. Some people choose to believe in religions and some don't. That's how it is, that is life.

I do believe that humans will create religions even if you destroy all evidences of all religions.

Yes, religions come with problems. But thinking of a world without religions is like you saying "I wish my clothes are not on fire" when your clothes are actually on fire!! It doesn't solve anything.

I believe John Lennon tried.

It wil be the same world cause people will find other reasons to kill people for .
Games will kill each other cause ps4 is better then xbox or sports fans will each each other cause they sont like the same tnings people will allwasy kill each other

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

I think it would be worse. People would lose their morals and society would begin to decay.

I love that we have taken the best parts of Christianity in most of the western world and built on them with secularism, abolition of slavery, freedom of speech and freedom of association. I don't think we need to continue spreading the gospel anymore though in order to control people. The likelyhood of Jesus being the son of God is so remote that it just confuses me that people believe it.

Then there's Islam......Well it's probably enough to say that I'm anti-Islamic as it is against almost everything I believe in (see first paragraph for details).

So that's the two biggest religions in the world and I don't think either is necessary. The rest I don't really know enough about to comment.

Ah, what a wondrous place that would be!

You ever watch that episode in South Park about Science basically being Religion. That is what will happen, people will twist ideals to their cause. It just how humanity works, for all the good we can do, we also do terrible horrible things because selfishness, and greed.

ironically, it would be heaven

There is a downside. Death. Currently we have no clue what happens when we die, so some people feel comfort in believing there is some sort of afterlife. A family loses their child, so the parents and loved ones feel comfort in believing that the child has gone to heaven. So without religion that belief is no longer there so it's, yeah sorry your kid died and all but now it's non existent.

It would be a much better world.

lol

No, morals would not be lost. Religion does not have better morals. Its actually often immoral. Have no tolerance for gay people, or agreeing to slavery.

Yeah... we can do without those skewed "morals".
