- Different coloured energy beams (with both rapid fire and charge shots) that damage enemies with corresponding colours

- Spider ball droid tracks that allow the player to climb walls. (They're even both glowing yellow)

- An evil corrupting energy that turns things evil.

I mean, I'm sure a lot of that is down to the studio making it, Armature, including some ex-Prime trilogy devs, but it really feels like they're going out of their way to play up the "hey look, some of us worked on Metroid Prime" angle.

Which, don't get me wrong, is fair enough. It's even smart, but far out, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if one of the bosses is a mechanical pterodactyl called Gridley. XD

Neh, I don't mind it. Metroid FF looks like arse imo and if these guys can give me the Metroid feel in some way, I will gladly take it until Nintendo makes a zomg one.

I have been longing for a new Metroid game for soo long that I am ready to Jizz as soon as we see even the hint of one! (Not FF nonsense that is) And if I have to go to MS (of all fucking companies) to get my Metroid fill, so be it!

Pretty smart of them to do so. Since Nintendo doesn't want to make another game like 3D Metroid or Metroid in general, Recore has that market all to themselves. Hope the game does well and encourage Nintendo to look back at the Prime games and Metroid in general.

We should be so lucky. If ReCore is half the game Metroid Prime is, I'll be happy. Based on the footage I've seen, though, I don't expect it to be very good

And, yes, Armature is definitely taking inspiration from a lot of properties. I see hints of Metroid, Mega Man, Kameo, Enslaved, MDK, and Tomb Raider.

xD true. Seriously tho, some elements of the Prime games plus some original ideas sounds like a good combination.
