- Different coloured energy beams (with both rapid fire and charge shots) that damage enemies with corresponding colours
- Spider ball droid tracks that allow the player to climb walls. (They're even both glowing yellow)
- An evil corrupting energy that turns things evil.
I mean, I'm sure a lot of that is down to the studio making it, Armature, including some ex-Prime trilogy devs, but it really feels like they're going out of their way to play up the "hey look, some of us worked on Metroid Prime" angle.
Which, don't get me wrong, is fair enough. It's even smart, but far out, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if one of the bosses is a mechanical pterodactyl called Gridley. XD
