Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Resident Evil 7 NX (Speculation)

So recently Capcom has filled a trademark that shows all the medias that Resident Evil will be available on. They have Disk and downloadable distribution on this trademark. One interesting thing they also have is "Video game cartridges" similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This trademark link can't is found anymore. This was the original link http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=toc&state=4801%3A7kmpvx.1.1&p_search=searchss&p_L=50&BackReference=&p_plural=yes&p_s_PARA1=&p_tagrepl~%3A=PARA1%24LD&expr=PARA1+AND+PARA2&p_s_PARA2=Resident+Evil&p_tagrepl~%3A=PARA2%24COMB&p_op_ALL=AND&a_default=search&a_search=Submit+Query&a_search=Submit+Query

But someoen from reddit took a screenshot of the page.

Nintendo is going to lead the glorious revolution back to cartridges and get better 3rd party support because of it!

🙄 This is not a rumor. This is speculation based off a similarity to another document which is speculated to have something to do with the NX because of a specific form of media it is speculated to have, the document of which is likely a misnomer because, as I stated in the other thread that made this absurd leap in logic, the same database lists a 3DS game as having disk media.

This couldn't be farther from being a rumor if it was posted by my uncle at Nintendo.

Didn't Ever Oasis trademark include disc?
People should stop reading trademarks as prove of something existing or that it's happening.

wtf? really? this is just a generic summary on what capcom do not where that games will be.

Either or. Was it even a question that the NX would get a Resident Evil game? 7 at that? Nintendo always gets Resident Evil games if their hardware can handle it. Or they get their own exclusives that later get ported over.

There is also one other Resident Evil game in development that has yet to be announced. I want to guess that it's Revelations 3, but no one knows. The Revelation games may be the ones taking over the story telling of our classic heroes.

Or perhaps it'll be something different. Capcom seems to like doing exclusives with the big 3 these days. Dead Rising with Microsoft. Street Fight V and Umbrella Corps with Sony. Monster Hunter with Nintendo. Perhaps something else? Who knows :P

I see you still haven't given up in your digital-only prediction.

That was exclusive? :o Ouch! Hope they didn't pay much for it.

Yep it was exclusive to the PS4 in terms of console release, but it also got a PC release on steam. The game could have very easily ran on the PS3, 360, Wii U, and obviously the Xbox One. I have no idea why it's exclusive and I don't think Sony paid for it xD
Honestly it's a fun arcade like game. No it's NOT worth $40. If it was a $15 game. I think it's reception would have been very different and it's not called "Resident Evil" for a very good reason.  I think people are overseeing that it's a Unity indie game, despite being made by Capcom. Taking those things into account. It's not that bad. Plus it's the only game that really has "One Life" that has come out in the past couple years that I can think of. One of the game's biggest fallacies is that the game supports no voice chat of any kind, nor does it support text chat on PC. What the fuck were they thinking?
The multiplayer is the games focus, but here's some single player stuff from "The Experiment". You can see how arcade like it is. Oh and no. Albert Wesker is not alive. That's a stupid theory.

Of course it's the one life multiplayer mode that makes this game fun :P

It's a stupid game, but it's a stupid fun game. It's surprisingly addicting.

Whether this is evidence or not, don't be surprised if capcom does release it on NX. They would love to release a "special edition' on nx 2 months after release. That or don't be shocked if it gets delayed to March to fit the NX release window.
