Yes, for its time Pokémon Red is my favorite JRPG as well. My overall favorite Pokémon game is Silver though. It's also my favorite JRPG with Valkyria Chronicles being a close 2nd.

The best JRPG series are Final Fantasy, Chrono and Persona.

 

Edit: I read it as "best JRPG of all time". I generally have a hard time comparing and ranking games across genres so I have both a favorite JRPG (Pokémon Silver) and a favorite WRPG (Fallout 3).

I cant wait to play it again on Steam this time.

Last time I played it was back in 2006 or so on my PS2.

2006 is too long ago you need to replay it again! :P

I played it when it initially launched for PS1 and again on PS2.  I'll definitely replay it again when it comes out for PS4 with trophy support.

Pokemon Ash Gray is the best Pokemon Game I have played.

I disagree with OP's assessment. To me the greatest RPG of all time is the original Final Fantasy for the NES.

It is the RPG that got me into RPGs. Has an excellent story. It was well ahead of it's time. The game is still fun to play this very day.

As for Pokemon, I could never get into the series. It always bored me for some reason.
