So yeah it thinks Pokemon Red is the best RPG of all time. I've played a lot of RPGs and my favorite RPG series is Final Fantasy, and the Elder Scrolls but recently I've been playing Pokemon Red on the GBA on my free time. The game is also very simple and the simple gameplay makes it really fun. The battle system is great, and this game made Pokemon blow up tot he mega franchise it is today. The Music is also really good, and the game still holds up today and it's good on the eyes.

What's your favorite RPG of all time?

Nah... Pokémon Gold is where it's at! Seriously though, I haven't played many RPG games, so it's either this or EarthBound to me =P

Pokémon Platinum imo. I really enjoy that gen, and it was the gen when Pokémon blew my mind.

Also, FFX and VII.

Platinum is my second favorite Pokemon game. It was the first Pokemon game I got on the DS.

Pokemon Gold/Silver and Pokemon Black/White are my two favourite games of all time period. But if I had o say which RPG is the best objectively, I'd say Chrono Trigger. Such a well crafted piece of software, it's as good as it is timeless. Pokemon will always be moving and improving, Chono rigger is jus stuck in time, no need for changes.

I said Pokémon Gold was the best, but now you reminded me that Platinum exists, thank you.

From what I heard Platinum was way better than D/P, which is sad, because those versions are the ones getting a remake next gen =(

Pokemon's simplicity coupled with its potential complex mechanics is what made it a success. Along with the concept and characters, etc. While I think it's a strong effort, I don't think it's the best RPG. But I can respect your choice. My favorite {okemon game overall is Sapphire.

My favorite RPG...hmmm...I would say Dragon Quest 8. It was really the first RPG where I didn't complain about anything the entire journey and just enjoyed the ride. If you count Zelda as an Action RPG, I would say that in the future, Breath of the Wild will effectively replace Dragon Quest 8 as my favorite RPG Genre game.

Platinum is where it's at, though.

I'm afraid I can't agree with Red/blue being the best pokemon in the series. Mine has to go to Silver/Gold. It felt very much improved from R/B and it gave you the joy of returning to Kanto. It's almost like 2 games in one, and it was aweesooooome.

Also, my personal best RPG of all time is Chrono Trigger. It is the most perfectly crafted RPG ever made.

There's a difference between best of all time and MY favorite of all time. My favorite is FFX followed closely by FF9. As far as the best ever, it should probably go to FF1 simply because of it's influence on the entire home console industry. I don't think there's another RPG that left a more indelible mark on consoles.
