"the greatest handheld system to ever be released"
and you think nintendo was delusional with the wii u

Well strictly speaking hardware wise they arent wrong.
If it was supported like the PSP it would easily be a top 3 handheld of all time. Sadly the market for dedicated handhelds is dying and Sony called it quits on the thing early, the pricing of its stupid memory cards didnt exactly help them out of the gate either.

I hoped one of you would make that comment.

I enjoy my Wii U very much but I don't think the quality of its library is that different from Vita's (which I also own and enjoy).

But it's amusing how much you guys seem to enjoy trash talking other consoles especially when the library of that console isn't that different from one that "could end up as the best Nintendo console ever if a new Metroid and F-Zero are announced".

:)

I'm not really trash talking but stating the obsiouv. The only games the Vita gets are Japanese games and indies. Sony isn't supporting it anymore while the Wii U is still getting 3 more big games. The Vita is pretty much dead and the Wii U is also. I don't hate Sony handhelds. Hell the PSP is my favorite handheld of all time but the Vita was a disappointment to fans and to Sony. Same can be said for the Wii U

So if those kinds of unconstructive comments are perfectly fine when talking about a disappointing console, why is it that people are being referred to as "awful fanboys" when anything negative is said about the Wii U (a console you just referred to as disappointing)?

I just think the double standards have multiplied after E3 and it's not benefitting the community (unless of course the goal is to turn VG into a Neogaf for Nintendo fans).

Mike, where is all this coming from? Nintendo fans are calling WiiU detractors "fanboys"? Nintendo fans are talking trash about Vita? VGChartz is turning into Neogaf for Nintendo fans?

I've been pretty active lately, and I'm not seeing evidence of this stuff. Can you point me in the right direction?

God, I want one of those so bad...

Only $199.00.  And don't ask about the memory cards until after the initial purchase.

Dragon's Crown rocks on this thing.

It's actually $170 right now, but I have the OLED/3G model, so it's not urgent that I get one.

I don't even know what you're talking about. When people refer tot the Wii u as a disappointment and criticise it they aren't "awful fanboys" but their criticisms are fair.

1: Yeah. Negativity and unnecessary hostility definitely run all ways. But visiting for instance one of those many positive Zelda threads I don't see nearly as many PS or Xbox fans acting all douchy. Zelda looks fantastic (I have it preordered for Wii U) and I like that the threads are almost exclusively people celebrating a great looking game. The ones without any interest simply stay out of the threads. After E3 I haven't spent a lot of time on VG. Lately work is taking up more of my time and I don't want to waste my short breaks rolling my eyes at awful comments on VG. Finally, Vita got a little love.... no, thread's full of trash talkers.

2: 2 years? Have I missed something? Vita was released early 2012 and Wii U late 2012, right? Yeah, generally portables have more games and Vita has as well (from your infor Vita has 90 Sony published and Wii U has 60 Nintendo published). The 42 and 40 games I listed for Wii U and Vita respectively are the bigger games. Let me know if you think I forgot to list any for either of the consoles.

3: I didn't say anything about retail games. If we only consider retail games then Wii U has a bigger lead, yeah.

Sorry, meant 1 year.  Glad I didn't type 21 years.   Vita came out at the end of 2011.  Wii U the end of 2012.

No worries.

Oh yeah, forgot that Vita was released in Japan in December 2011. Same year as the Wii U in the West.

i still spent most of my gaming time on Vita more than PS4, lucky to be a japanese game lover here

Vita and the 3DS are probably my favorite handhelds ever. And owning only one is doing a dishonor to yourself because owning both completes the amazing library each have combined. But that's talking as a handheld gamer, I'd take a Vita over a PS4/ONE/WiiU any day of the week -same goes for 3DS

I quite like the Vita,, although I use mine like once a year at most, but let's be honest it barely has a future. Japanese releases and the ability for Western devs to release their PS4 download titles as cross platform are the only two things keeping it going.

While what exists is quite niche in appeal, it's had quite a nice amount of those games come over. In terms of quantity of releases, it definitely punches far above its weight for the install base of the console.

1: I haven't visited the site a lot during all the post E3 bs but in some of threads I saw several Nintendo fans agreed that the "PS fanboys" were "toxic" because of their "hate" towards Nintendo's E3. What the "PS fanboys" said was something about Nintendo didn't beat the PS and Xbox E3 conferences by only showing 2 games for a "failed" console. Apparently, that was not ok to say. In this thread however, it's the total opposite. Double standards? No?

2: Besides, this thread's "dead", "no support", "nothing more than a peripheral", "abandoned in 2012", "waste of resources", "latest fad", "delusional", "joke", "middle finger", etc? If these comments for some reason aren't eligible, just look up another Vita thread and you'll have more "fine" words.

3: If most PS fans got tired with the site, wouldn't it more or less be a site for Nintendo fans like Neogaf is for Sony fans?
